  • FEATURED in the group All Soft & Cuddlies !! My 3 yr old thought Baby Girl should be a princess too! Baby Girl was brought to me after she had been locked in a van for a week along with 38 other cats when Animal Control came out to rescue the cats they somehow missed her & she was found a week later barely alive. She weighed less than a pound & her eyes were crusted shut from infections. She was very week & sooooo tiny. I didn’t she was gonna survive but I worked very hard & was very tired from the round the clock attention & care she needed but I wasn’t gonna give up if she wasn’t so needless to say we have a very special bond as a result & I love her with all of my heart! She is about 7 years old now & very spoiled & tends to be a real pain in my butt. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!

She saw an opportunity for good free grub and took it …..what clever cat wouldn’t. / We affectionately called her Dibley as shemade the first ‘connection’ with us whilst we were watching ‘The Vicar of Dibley’: the dog collar suited the name and it stuck. / By the time we moved to a more rural setting the fat was part of the clan. More fool us the ‘fat’ cat we adopted, was infact pregnant and gave birth within days of moving to our new home. She took up “residence” in a part completed fireplace and gave birth to four – Liquorice, Minty, Linford and Chloe. / Ever felt that you’ve been ‘had’? The tabby cat has a distinctive coat that features stripes, dots, or swirling patterns. Tabbies are sometimes erroneously assumed to be a breed of cat. In fact, the tabby pattern is a naturally occurring feature that may be the original coloration of the domestic cat’s distant ancestors. Tabby color is found in many breeds of cat, as well as among the general ‘moggy’ (mixed-breed or mongrel) population. When cats are allowed to breed randomly, the coloration of the population tends toward brown mackerel tabbies with green eyes[, leading geneticists to believe that this is the common wild phenotype of the domestic cat. The tabby usually has an “M” mark on its forehead. The word, adapted from the name of a kind of textile, comes from French tabis, which was earlier atabis, and in medieval Latin attabi. The distant origin of the word seems to be from the Attabiyah section of Baghdad where a type of striped silk was made that was later used to describe cats. Since the tabby pattern is a common wild type, it would be assumed that medieval cats were of tabby type. This was not the case in England at least. Some time after the mid-17th century, the curious antiquary John Aubrey noted in his disorganized memoranda, “W. Laud, A.B. Cant. was a great lover of Catts. He was presented with some Cyprus-catts, i.e. our Tabby-catts, which were sold, at first for 5 pounds a piece: this was about 1637 or 1638. I doe well remember that the common English Catt, was white with some blewish piednesse : sc, a gallipot3 blew. The race or breed of them are now almost lost.” William Salmon, in The Compleat English Physician, (London, 1693:326) notes of the domestic cat, “It is a neat and cleanly creature, often licking itself to keep it fair and clean, and washing its face with its fore feet; the best are such as of a fair and large kind and of an exquisite tabby color called Cyprus cats”. A study by the National Cancer Institute suggests that all current house cats (Felis catus) in the world are descendants from a group of self-domesticating wild cats 10,000 years ago, somewhere in the Near East. The closest relative of the Wild cat is the Sand Cat (Felis margarita). DIBLEY /

  • This pic was not staged she was sad because my friend’s son didn’t really care about her new princess dress & wouldn’t put his Gameboy down & play with her. (he’s 8) This is my youngest daughter Trinity. She wanted a new princess dress & this is the one she picked out. If she had it her way she’d wear it all day every day. I tried to explain to her that she’s already worn hers longer than any real bride wears hers but she doesn’t believe me. Bless her heart! =) FEATURED in the group Women Appreciation / FEATURED in the group Family Unlimited

Their mother is Bela and he father is Troy. / Taken with Sony Cybershot 25 April 2009 The Rottweiler, or Rottweil Metzgerhund (“Butchers Dog”), is a “medium to large size, stalwart dog” breed originating in Germany as a herding dog. It is a hardy and very intelligent breed. Rottweilers also worked as draught dogs, pulling carts to carry meat and other products to market. “Rottweiler breeders aim at a dog of abundant strength, black coated with clearly defined rich tan markings, whose powerful appearance does not lack nobility and which is exceptionally well suited to being a companion, service and working dog.” The Rottweiler was kept busy in these traditional roles until the mid-19th century when railroads replaced droving for getting livestock to market. Although there are still Rottweilers working stock all over the world, many other roles have been found for this versatile breed. During the first and second World Wars, Rottweilers were put into service in various roles including as messenger, draught and guard dogs. Currently they are often used as search and rescue, assistance, guide dogs for the blind, guard and police dogs in addition to their traditional roles. Although an extremely versatile breed used in recent times for many other purposes, the Rottweiler is first and foremost one of the oldest, if not the oldest, of herding breeds. A multi-faceted herding and stock protection dog of exceptional ability, it is capable of working all kinds of livestock under a wide variety of conditions. The breed is an ancient one, whose history stretches back to the Roman Empire. In those times, the legions traveled with their meat on the hoof and required the assistance of working dogs to herd the cattle. One route the army traveled was through Württemberg and on to the small market town of Rottweil. The principal ancestors of the first Rottweilers during this time was supposed to be the Roman droving dog, local dogs the army met on its travels, and dogs with molosser appearance coming from England and The Netherlands. This region eventually became an important cattle area, and the descendants of the Roman cattle dogs proved their worth in both driving and protecting the cattle from robbers and wild animals. However, by the end of the 19th century as railroads became the main method for moving stock to market, the breed had declined so much that in 1900 there was only one female to be found in the town of Rottweil. • Slick & his reflection /

  • As many of you know, I recently visited my good friend (one could say brother), who suffered a stroke with left side paralysis. Since he was in a nursing home setting when I was there, I stayed at his place to make sure everything is ok with his house, mail, bills, etc. Soon, this little stray cat came by for frequent visits. I asked my friend about her, he said that he is quite fond of her, and where I could find the catfood. Well I fed her daily and soon she was sitting on my shoulders as I’m in his backyard taking pictures of birds, etc. She had the prettiest blue eyes and it was nice seeing her after the somewhat depressing hours I spent with Robert. I named her “Getwellsoon”, and was assured that a friend and neighbor of Robert’s will continue to feed and take care of her. If you are reading this Mr. Lawson, thank you for all you are doing for Robert. Image made with Nikon D300 and Sigma 70-300mm

  • Pocket wasn’t too amused when her bath got interupted however I found it to be rather amusing myself. I’m not sure they don’t seem to expect me to terrorize them when they are almost always terrorizing me. And a good portion of it is while I’m trying to sleep! Oh yeah ~ it’s fun to be me! Especially since they think I’m a cat & that it doesn’t hurt them so it can’t hurt me either. The fact that I bleed regularly never tells them otherwise! lol I love them to death though & wouldn’t have it any other way….................apparently! /
