The aspens are just as beautiful in Winter as in any other season. The white snow and white aspens against that beautiful morning blue sky, with the shadows from the trees Just spoke to me when I looked up and saw them. When I took this it became one of my most popular pictures at that time. I had it printed in a pearl metallic as a Christmas gift, and received two orders for it after it was seen. It was taken with a KODAK EASY SHARE. I sometimes take a smaller camera when we go snowmobiling, and it was the first digital my husband bought me. This was taken near Rexburg, Id. on our last snowmobile trip for the season, it was taken in March. It is a as is shot. I sold two 11×14 prints of this shot, which I signed and numbered.

  • I was in the kitchen cooking dinner when my husband came in from the front yard. He said I needed to go look at the sky. As soon as I saw this, I immediately turned around and ran for my camera. It was truly amazing. I hope you enjoy it. This was taken in Orlando Florida from my front porch!! / in the “Outsiders” group. > > > > > > >

  • A station that time has mostly forgotten all about stands waiting for a time that may never come. These old buildings and rails remember an era where hundreds of happy faces passed through here on their way home or on their holidays: They dream of a time long since passed. The Summer sky presents its amber glow to the station and casts its pigment all over the scene, highlighting the old charm of the woodwork and enhancing the shaddows. There is a romantic stillness captured within this scene. It is easy for us to imagine a crowd of people gathered waiting on a station that looks imaculate and yet, we can also see that this truly is the End of the Line. • Well as you can see from the images below, The Empty Studio has been all about inks…my inks had been put away for so long some of them had dried out, and had to be discarded, but I still have an assortment of acrylic inks, and have been using mostly sepia and black for this collection… Today I added a bit of colour to this latest painting of Hollyhocks…they seemed to need it…I’ve had the sketch forever in my files, and I don’t know where it originated, but at one time I did grow these regal flowers in my garden and maybe the idea came from that time of my life Acrylic Inks on Cotton Paper… Silently a flower blooms, / In silence it falls away; / Yet here now, at this moment, at this place, / The world of the flower, the whole of / the world is blooming. / This is the talk of the flower, the truth / of the blossom: / The glory of eternal life is fully shining here. / - Zenkei Shibayama..

  • “Poppy” is the newest addition to the Empty Studio collection…the studio is getting a lot emptier as the day for installation draws nearer, so I decided to go back to long ago childhood crafts, and create this flower in a very old but unique way, painting it with lemon juice…I added a bit of detail with a bamboo pen…I am thrilled with the results, and plan to do a lot more of these..... see others in the series below Lemon Juice on Cartridge Paper At dawn I unite with the breeze / To announce the coming of light; / At eventide I join the birds / In bidding the light farewell. / The plains are decorated with / My beautiful colors, and the air / Is scented with my fragrance. / As I embrace Slumber the eyes of / Night watch over me, and as I / Awaken I stare at the sun, which is / The only eye of the day..from The Song of the Flower by Gibran.

  • The other night I was taking some pictures of this really neat halo around the moon. Finally got pretty cold, and couldn’t resist taking a few pictures of my Christmas tree, while the camera was still mounted on the tripod. Taken with Nikon D300, Tokina 12-24mm lens.
