I had the good fortune to attend one of the Empowered Beauty Workshops. This shot is of the lovely model, Claire. I was spellbound by her eyes all day, and so the first piece that I will post is exactly that! I want to thank Tony Ryan for his patience and advice. This was my first ever formal photo workshop – and it was definitely worth doing. I will be doing more, for sure, and recommend you do one if you’ve never taken the plunge. Thanks to Claire for all her work. It must be hard to be gorgeous for almost four hours, but Claire managed it with aplomb. As I am a beginner, please understand that my work, like everything, will develop and evolve over time. The Empowered Beauty details are found here NOTE: I do use Photoshop to enhance my work where my natural ability is lacking!!!! Hope you like the shot as much as I did taking it…..

Winter Sunset over Fairbanks North Star Borough / Alaska Winter Scenics The Universal Incarnation “There is a Wisdom like a brooding Sun, / A Bliss in the heart’s crypt grown fiery white, / The heart of a world in which all hearts are one, / A Silence on the mountains of delight. A Calm that cradles Fate upon its knees; / A wide Compassion leans to embrace earth’s pain; / A Witness dwells within our secrecies, / The incarnate Godhead in the body of man. Our mind is a glimmering curtain of that Ray, / Our strength a parody of the Immortal’s power, / Our joy a dreamer on the Eternal’s way / Hunting the fugitive beauty of an hour. Only on the heart’s veiled door the word of flame / Is written, / the secret and tremendous Name.” ~ poetry by Sri Aurobindo From my collection: / Emerquinox Spirit of Alaska / Emerquinox is a word I coined when I combined the words Emerge and Equinox. On the way to our mini-getaway in Harrison BC…we saw these beautiful fields filled with vibrant red bushes…..blueberry fields in their full autumn glory. I thought they made an interesting contrast against the yellow brush, the green grass and the sky.
