In islam, it is forbidden to do or have permanent tattoes, so people in islam use the mix from plants, called henna, which is temporary and lasts about a week. Then have fun using any form of patterns, onto hands and feet,. Mostly the women get together on a special time like, Eid (islam christmas) or weddings or the bride, who the henna patterns are a must!. My picture is o ccourse is not made from the actual mix, but i like playing around with the idea of it all, because it seems endless fun and beautiful strong colours.

This artwork was originally a painting i created, 75×100cm, although she had light brown hair and was no where near as smoky as this little hussybag!!! I jazzed up her photo in photoshop and she came out like this. One of my favourite pieces of artwork i’ve ever created, although i do wish i painted her like this in the first place, just so she could hang on my wall and remind me that i really do love to paint.

Finally I’m seeing butterflies and usually by now I’ve seen / quite a few…but usually the yellow ones—but today this polka dot one appeared on the scene and stayed around but wouldn’t sit still for barely a second…like to drove me crazy capturing this image. “To make a wish come true, / whisper it to a Butterfly. / Upon these wings it will be taken to / heaven and granted, for they are the / messengers of the Great Spirit.” / ~~Native American Legend /

Cleaning up some older folders from previous ladybird shoots at Mount Burr South Australia. These ladybirds mass in their thousands here at certain times of the year. Taking flowers out to them results in them climbing up and down petals and leaves in hunt for food. Canon 400D – Sigma 70 -300 macro.

“The Visitor” is part 5 of the story of four friends who set out for a Christmas weekend in the country and land themselves in a frightening adventure..the first four chapters can be read by clicking on the links on the images seen below Watercolour on Arches Not Paper I froze, not daring to breathe, and slowly turned to see if one of us had gone out, but in the darkness of the room I could see the faint outline of three shapes…then if it wasn’t us, who was it? / At that moment Dahlia who was lying right next to me, chose to wake up and seeing the door open, was about to exclaim out loud…I clapped my hand over her mouth and the two of us stared mesmerized at the figure in the doorway…then suddenly and silently as it had appeared, it turned and vanished… we sat for what seemed like hours, afraid to move…finally as the skies began to lighten, I rose and went to the door…a hurried look outside showed that the storm had abated, and the sun was beginning to rise…no one was about and there were no footsteps leading to and from the bothy… / I turned back to find that the men were stirring and exclaiming over a stack of wood, some milk and bread, that were standing near the hearth….Dahlia and I exchanged a look and quickly cried in unison, “we must have overlooked them last night”…she and I were the only ones who knew about our night visitor and for once in accord, decided to keep silent…... / After we had something to eat, we would have to plan our next move…that is if we could move at all…we were marooned.... / Mark / The Bothy / The Grove / Lost / A Weekend in the Country
