Another image taken yesterday at the local beach, it’s quite simplistic really so I would love to hear some opinions.

The origianl painting is in acrylic on Canvas / The original was sold. “He drew a keyboard on the wall / And played it for friends / Bud Powell was a legend” Bud powell was an Amelican jazz pianist. / He was a child prodigy. He had a firm grounding in the classics before he began to play jazz. / During a murky encounter with Philadelphia police in 1945, Powell was beaten repeatedly over the head. His injuries seem to have intensified his mental problems. He spent time in and out of institutions. Well as you can see from the images below, The Empty Studio has been all about inks…my inks had been put away for so long some of them had dried out, and had to be discarded, but I still have an assortment of acrylic inks, and have been using mostly sepia and black for this collection… Today I added a bit of colour to this latest painting of Hollyhocks…they seemed to need it…I’ve had the sketch forever in my files, and I don’t know where it originated, but at one time I did grow these regal flowers in my garden and maybe the idea came from that time of my life Acrylic Inks on Cotton Paper… Silently a flower blooms, / In silence it falls away; / Yet here now, at this moment, at this place, / The world of the flower, the whole of / the world is blooming. / This is the talk of the flower, the truth / of the blossom: / The glory of eternal life is fully shining here. / - Zenkei Shibayama..
