The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. This is my fathers Arab Stallion, he used to have dark legs but as he is getting on in years his fur is starting to loose its colour…
After having so much fun with the last piece, I decided to try a series of em. I have an idea, but won’t let it out until I’m sure it will work =D This piece is focused on the ability to open up. Being vulnerable to the outside without fear or worry. My creative juices have been flowing since that week of downtime and in a way my mind has opened a little more for me to see inside and to let you see a little deeper. Only in this state of vulnerability can I truly be free, and without limitation on what I do or how I go about doing it.
As a once psychology major, I was intrigued by Freud’s theory on the id and ego of the human psyche. It has been many years since those classes so my words may be somewhat off. But this piece is a self representation (aren’t they all?) of myself and how the “id” and “ego” play in our life decisions. We all seek pleasure and that constant feeling of euphoria, and our “id”’s only goal is to achieve those feelings without worry or care about the consequences of such actions. It is our “ego” that keeps the “id” in line, allowing us to think before we act, and to be able to foresee what may come of this pleasure seeking. It is a constant battle that wages on beneath our skin and sometimes the “id” overcomes. Some choose to live only by the “id”s bidding and never realize the destruction they leave behind when seeking their pleasures. I have been through that lifestyle once, and as much as I enjoyed such pleasures in bountiful amounts….the aftershock of those actions can still be felt today.
This piece is based on how much we base our decisions off of love. Not condemning it, but rather it intrigues me what those will do in the name of love. Many people have died for love, have fought for love, and have sacrificed for love. It’s a powerful feeling that enslaves us, causing us to react in ways we may not deem normal in a clear state of mind, but like they say, Love is intoxicating. 2nd traditional piece I’ve ever attempted with acrylics. It was (key word, was, because it was sold lol)a 18×24 inch stretched canvas with acrylics and india ink. I miss this piece dearly, but at least I have a wonderful jpeg of it’s remains.

Taken with my Canon EOS Rebel XT during the fall hunting season. I love the wildlife in Idaho. Using a 18-55 lens, all with focal length out all the way. When I first viewed the picture I was disappointed wanted it closer, but it began to grow on me just as it was. The fall colors just popped! I had it printed and it was just amazing. The print sold right away. MUST SEE LARGER TO APPRECIATE.
It’s too cold to take pictures today so I’m going through some old shots; came across this one, a close cousin to one I posted months ago, but I couldn’t resist sharing Mr. Beautiful with everyone in this different pose.
Models: Amber and Rayne / Makeup and Hair: Loran Bean / Assistants: Elleni and Adam Shot next door to where my new studio will be in Brisbane! We were locked out today, so used another room lol! Titled this way because Adam said it looked like one! About the shot: I rarely work with artificial light, mainly because I only have one flash in my kit. But today Elleni lent me her two Ellinchroms :) / This shot in particular had one light on low power coming over Rayne’s shoulder, and a bit of natural light from a window on Amber, diffused through a filter. I wanted some intense shadows for this one, and was hard to get it right. But I a pretty pleased with the results. / / Comments are appreciated

oldschool Easter bunny sitting on an empty beach, Crete 2009 FEATURED IN REDBUBBLE ART&PHOTOGRAPHY May 2009
Ever since the painted bunting returned to southern Louisiana for the 2009 summer breeding season, I’ve been on the lookout for him. He sings heartily from the nearby forested property but seldom does he show himself. I saw him fleetingly a few times, but his extreme shyness keeps him well out of reach. Today, I sat in my blind and prayed he’d come. The singing started, with the glorious sound getting closer and closer until he landed as close as I’ve seen him this year. Snap. Snap. Snap. And then he was gone! This was as good as I could get; hopefully, there will be more opportunities before Mr. Elusive heads to Mexico for the winter months! Isn’t he just dandy! Reminds me of a box of crayons! I’m grateful to God for answering my prayer for a better view of this gorgeous little bird.
The painted bunting, known among the Cajun people as nonpareil because of his unparalleled beauty, comes to southern Louisiana sometime in late April or early May and remains in the area throughout the breeding season. There is a forested area next door to my home which is a perfect habitat for these glorious little birds. I hear the male singing long before I ever see him, and is his song memorable! He can really belt out a tune. He is extremely shy, however, and seldom makes himself visible, but once in a while I do see him near the birdbath where he loves to splash. Last year, he came to my patio birdbath, but this year the male is staying further away from the house and visiting a bath further out in the yard so I don’t see him as frequently. These birds are endangered south of the border because the bird is not protected by law there and people have trapped them to use as cage birds and have threatened their numbers as a result. The population along the eastern U.S. coast is diminished because of possible intrusion by the cow bird, but the birds in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas seem to be doing fine. I hope they will be with us forever as they are truly NONPAREIL!
