  • I’m bored, have a head cold and I’m stuck at home so I had to try and use my imagination with what I had around the house! I don’t know if I’ll keep this one up, I want to try and perfect it. It’s actually just a water drop on top of a tiny bougainvillea flower.. This can give you an idea of how tiny this actually is! Ohh, and this has not received any post processing.

  • A Parents Prayer for their sick child. / (2 Samuel 12:22) David answered: While he was still alive, I went without food and cried because there was still hope. I said to myself, “Who knows? Maybe the LORD will have pity on me and let the child live.” I am an Irish born Missionary living in London I spend much time living with the Kambari tribe, I get to know first hand the challenges they face each day just to survive. • Crazy as it is, there exist butterflies that have transparent wings. I have never seen one before, but they keep a few in the butterfly gardens in Knokke-Heist in Belgium. And there I´ve met my first one. / The butterfly is commonly called the Glasswing and its home is Central America. Photographed with Nikon D200, lens Tamron 90mm, f/2,8 Some suggestions: /

  • Praying Mantis. This insect gets it’s name from the way in which it’s two front legs are bent and held together, suggesting the position of a prayer. Any profits made from the purchase of this piece, will be donated to the Wildlife-appeal / /

  • I took this sometime in the summer in my bathroom. There was a giant spiderweb on the window so I sprayed it with water… most of it ended up on the window which is the bokeh you seen in the background. Enjoy!

  • Early morning at Santa Cruz, California Monarch refuge, before the air temperature warms and these delicate blossoms dissipate into the winds. • Yes their back! The ladybirds from Mount Burr made an emergence yesterday with thousands massing in a number of spots within the forest. This group were huddled together in their hundreds on a power pole just above ground level. As with all things in life there is always one or two who stand out in a crowd. Canon 400D 18-55 taken at night with aid of a speedlight. Processed in Photo shop CS3.

  • Yesterday I reported the swarming of thousands of these beautiful creatures in the Mount Burr Forest in the South East of the State. This lot were clustered around the nut on a bolt holding the side plate onto a powerpole. Interestingly I went back today and nearly all of the tens of thousands had disappeared back to wherever they came from. What a magical twenty four hours this was. Thanks to Biggzie (see his site for some great images) I can now tell you that they are the: Common Spotted Ladybird / Harmonia conformis Canon 400D 18 – 55 lens with speedlight.

  • Another trip out to the swarming of ladybirds that I have been reporting on at Mount Burr South Australia. This time we took them flowers!!!!!! The thousands I have posted on recently have dwindled to small groups of twenty to thirty and are slowly moving on. They climbed aboard our flowers which gave us opportunities to take some images a little different to those uploaded over the last few days. I promise the ladybirds shots will stop soon but they are just such brilliant works of nature that I can’t help keep going back whilst they are there. Canon 400D 18 – 55 lens with two stage extension tubes and speedlight.

  • The light was shining on this gorgeous dragonfly in just the most perfect way! I loved it!! It was so beautiful! ;] Fuji Finepix S1000fd Norwood Ontario Canada

  • I did not yet look up the exact species this one is but she was sure beautiful in my garden… Nikon D6055/200 / My garden-N.E. Ct. / Cropped only

  • There I was, trying to get some macro shots of some roses in my neighborhood. The light was terrible and I was just about to give up, when this beautiful dragonfly flew by. I had to take my camera off the tripod to get a shot of her since she didn’t land too long in a particular spot. It was a challenging day for me, and capturing this dragonfly wasn’t easy. She finally flew off to the top branch of a tree! • Canon 350D / F/5.6 / 1/400seg / ISO-100 I was sitting day dreaming on my varanda and this most beautiful (and the biggest) butterfly that I had ever seen came to visit my Bougainvillea. When I realised I wasn’t still day dreaming (as I never get the honour of such beautiful visitors) I ran inside to get my camera half expecting she would have already gone! It was so hard as she kept fluttering around but I manage to get this shot. / This is very new to me as I have never been able to capture something as beautiful as this.
