Icicles
The colour blue on this berg blew me away… It was so beautiful and sooo clean I just had to capture it…
Shot taken on Second Broad River in Spooky Hollow near Marion NC USA
For those who have read the journal entry- you will understand what this is about. The ice has frozen to the grass. It is extremely cold and I am on all fours being looked at as though I am mad!

70 degrees south along the prime meridian. Travelling to preform our final transect of research in the Weddel Gyre. The yearly summer melt of sea ice has allowed these beautiful icebergs to be transported by the will of the currents and closer to their eventual demise in warmer waters further north. The pace is slow and this iceberg will most likely be trapped again as the winter freeze occurs, waiting for the summer to set it free again Copyright Notice All Rights Reserved Any unauthorised copying, duplication, reproduction, selling and/ or distribution will constitute an infringement of Copyright Copyright © 2008 Frank Pey

Beyond beauty and home to a remarkable variety of North American wildlife. It’s The Rockies, what more can I say? lol ~ Skye
I was walking along a Vancouver Island riverbank looking for birds near a rich Bald Eagle breeding-ground last year, when I came upon a beautiful stream. I took a photograph of ice between the rocks which lent itself to the application of a Photoshop filter for this arty result. 25% of all proceeds from sales benefit the wonderful wildlife protection group Defenders of Wildlife at www.defenders.org ~ Skye

Bluebell ice cream is a favorite here in Texas. So are the beautiful bluebonnet flowers that are appearing everywhere – on the sides of the roads, in fields and in gardens all across central and south-central Texas. In a few short weeks, the red flower in the middle (Indian Paintbrush) will also make a showing. Its a beautiful sight! This photo was taken by my 8 year old son, who is following in his big sister’s footsteps with photography. Not bad, huh???
...The stars rush back to their positions. Several meteorites dash the night sky. I saw a very bright and very blue meteorite drop down across the river. It burned up after a 3 second long trail of blue and white flame. Not sure if it was a meteorite or a falling satellite, but the event is very common around here. Lyriad meteorites dot the sky tonight I only wish they didn’t start dumping sewage into this river, that’s the only thing that bothers me about going down to the Slave River, now, sometimes the smell is overpowering and makes you sick. I wonder if an investment in biofuel energy would be a worthwhile endeavor for whoever is in charge of that. The aurora was so beautiful that night, the river ice decided it would split! This is #3 of 3 prints belonging to the Elemental series. Sold as a set of 3 for special discount pricing, depending on sizes. Prints #s: / 1: Crackling Nights / 2: Last Stone Remaining

As is. / The sun is setting over the frozen Nätra river where I grew up in north Sweden (the small village Västersel about 500 km north of Stockholm) at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon on December the 28th 2007. At this time of year the sun rise at about 10 in the “morning” and set at about 2. While it’s up it’s quite lazy, just kind of roll along the horizon :D Camera: Casio Exilim EX-Z700, 7,2 mega-pixel and a 3x optical zoom. FEATURED in Northern Landscape. / /
