Home Sweet Home. The Blue Boathouse, Mounts Bay Road, Perth. Western Australia. I’ve finally dragged my lazy feet to the Blue Boathouse down at Mounts Bay Road, Perth. Despite being a 20 minute drive by the freeway, I never seem to allocate the right time to visit this magnificient icon. It’s possibly one of the most photographed building in Western Australia, and I cannot object it anyway if it was. edits: Realigned, adjusted contrast/brightness. A fading bloom in my garden… the petals would curl up at the end of it’s life cycle.

The sun sets on this old house, in more ways than one. I believe it shall soon be no more, it’s life given for a a new housing estate. No-one lives there now, but soon there’ll be hundreds of little blocks with little houses and not-so-little morgages!

“Every morning my pretty Hibiscus greets me offering a new regal flower unfurling. Almost every day the flower is of a sheer fuchsia colour. Once in a while, a flower blooms in a delicate shade of yellow. / / Taking a closer look at this flower, I noticed a visitor quietly sitting in it and embracing it wholy. The long and thin legs touched the petals delicately and remained motionless when I approached. The morning sun rays revealed a Daddy-long-legs comfortably stationed. / / The breeze made the flower quiver. The light played through the yellow petals; it was warm an inviting. The cosy spot made this delicate visitor remain long, adding its beauty to the morning greeting” / / / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens.
