  • Yucca flower southwestern botanical floral watercolor original painting. This western plant is scattered throughout the desert of the southwest. The yucca flower is the New Mexico state flower. The yucca is a member of the lily family and a symbol of sturdiness and beauty. In the early summer, pale ivory flowers bloom at the tips of its long, fibrous stalks. At the base of the plant are broad, sharpedged leaves that look like stilettos. The yucca sometimes grows to the height of a small tree. What really amazes me about this plant is the American Indian’s use for it. When I spent some time in El Paso Texas I traveled all over the west. My favorite thing to do is spend time visting the historical southwest areas and especially when Indian history is involved. One time I went to a spot where Indians were using the yucca root as an edible food and it is really good. I tasted the root once again when I ate at a restaurant in Orlando Florida called Texas da Brazil. If you are ever in Orlando and you want to be spoiled rotten eat at the Texas da Brazil. It is expensive but it is an experience with food that you will never forget.

I walk down wet concrete stairs for what seems an eternity, trying to concentrate through all the frustration clouding my thoughts.

  • Love Me Tender

  • The World is fast becoming younger, the news is all they’ve ever known / they’ve seen the wars, the hurt, the hunger How will they choose when they are grown. What do you tell forevers children when its their turn to hurt and heal / whatever spins the grim tornedo can also turn a potters wheel take a little clay put it on the wheel give a little hint how God must feel, / give a little turn listen to it spin make it in the shape you want it in. • Autumn Kaleidoscope made from Byce Canyon National Park.

  • Fully opened rare red Lotus form directly over the top of the Lotus. Felt this made for an interesting view and it can be hard to get this close to the flower.

  • Large Pink Lotus with sun slightly backlighting flower to give it a glow and surrounded by the out of focus lime green color of the flowers large green leaves.

  • Took this lovely Lotus and placed it with a separate shot of a nice backlit Lotus leaf for this end result.

  • Found this Lotus flower that had leaned to the side but was still surrounded by some Lotus leaves to give it a nice contrast.

  • Liked the feel of this flower which was growing in a pond that also included some tall grass.

  • Although this was an excellent specimen/image in and of itself I decided to soften its look and give it a slight glow.

  • Was really attracted to the colors and the nice shape of this Lotus bloom. It really reminded me of a ripe peach.

  • I’m not sure how familiar people are with Lotus flowers, but they are extremely difficult to grow. We have had some success growing a few flowers in our backyard and this is a an example of one of the better ones.

  • A purple Dwarf Lake Iris, Iris Lacustris, among green leaves. This flower only grows in the areas surrounding Lake Michigan in the USA.
