My beautiful baby, Missy. She’s Chocolate Lab and German Shephard even though she only looks lab. She was abused when we got her and it took a while to get her to realize there really is love in this cruel world…..anyway this is her gorgeous eye. hehe

Here’s another portrait of my favourite little muse…
I don’t spend much time at home but when I do, I get bored very quickly and this is what I come up with! I’ve always had a fascination with eyes, both in drawing, painting and photography so have decided to explore this further and of course my kids once again were my faithful models! I started my my middle son who has a perfect mix of my (blue) & my hubby’s (brown) eyes. My oldest son says they look like opals so hence the name. I will also upload my other children’s eyes as they all look like jewels to me. Apart from the selective colouring, I have only added some extra saturation and enhanced the contrast.. No actual colour changes were made. I don’t know if I’ll keep them up but will definitely get them in a card at least! Enjoy.
Okay, couldn’t help it so I’m adding our dog Maggie’s eye which I also took today while taking photos of the kids. She has the most amazing coloured eyes for a dog so I had to add it…. Enjoy!
An acrylic on Canvas of Jennifer, my Daughter Having worked on a few with some students in my School this year, I decided it was time to try a painting for myself. PLEASE VIEW LARGE.. !! This was taken early in the morning as we arrived for our journey to the Elephant Seal area. Mists and light and Peace. Taken in the Año Nuevo SNR State Natural Reserve Northern California / ELEPHANT SEAL AFTERNOON I have used this form of morning meditation for quite some time and feel the ease of this practice and results in a more generous day with better focus. This is a meditation to begin the day. In a seated pose, focus on your breath. Cultivate a steady, relaxed breath. Then ask yourself: What is my intention today? After posing the question, rest your attention on the out-breath. This creates a spaciousness of attention on the in-breath. There is no direction for the in-breath. Do not get carried away by thinking, but also do no tightly control the attention. Continue to notice each out breath. Sit until you are struck by a clarity of intention. It comes not by chasing it down with thinking, but by stilling the mind and creating space. It may take a few minutes, or much longer. If no specific intention announces itself to you, simply commit to acting ethically and with mindfulness. That is certainly an intention that we can all practice each day. This meditation seems simple, and it is simple. It’s power lies in its ability to help us act intentionally throughout the day. If you practice this meditation each morning, you will find yourself more ‘awake’ behind the wheel of your life*.

Featured in the “This is Relevant” and the “Good News” groups on the same day 6/21/09. WOW! My thanks to the Hosts / It has been written, it has been said… that God is the highest that our souls can reach, the highest vision that we can see within ourselves. That to atone is to be at one with creation, in essence to be in harmony with all that is. This then is in homage to the most high. In April, 2008 Steve Morton from Canada sent me an instrumental that he had written and recorded called “Rejoice” and asked me to try to come up with something. That same day his music inspired me to write the song “Rejoice.” I had purchased “Faces of Africa” and saw a photo of a little Masai girl leaping through the air in shear joy. It spoke perfectly to the spirit of the music and to the song. I drew my version of the picture with RoseArt colored pencils in honor of Drawing Day on June 6, 2009, and called it “Rejoice.” The image here was enhanced with Photoshop’s plastic filter and textured on canvas. The image and the song, to my mind, express harmony, inspiration and rejoicing. (Click the following title to hear the song) Rejoice! / Words & Melody written & performed by RoyAllenHunt / Music Composed & performed by Steve (Morty) Morton © April 28, 2008 When I woke up this morning and I opened up my eyes I took that first God given breath and with it I realized what a great, great joy it is just to be alive with the whole day in front of me to bring the dream to the light. Give us this day our daily bread, grant us grace not to war but live in peace instead, to love each other just as you have said and one voice that we may all sing and Rejoice. There’s no need to live in fear if we—to one rule adhere. Treat each other as sisters and brothers holding each other dear, loving while we can. We may not pass this way again. And what a shame should they leave before they understand in them we Rejoice. Some will not respond to the call. They may not come at all. But others will hear and echo too and in their thoughts and deeds, follow through and they too will - Rejoice - in everything they say. Rejoice every step along the way. Rejoice and pass this sure thing on. Rejoice and many will sing along. Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice! / Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice! They may not come at all. But others will hear you and in their thoughts and deeds they’ll follow through and they too will Rejoice - in everything they say. Rejoice every step along the way. Rejoice and then pass this sure thing on. Rejoice and many will sing along. Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!
