Those that know me well know that i was shattered when Craig’s hut burnt down in the 2006/2007 bush fires. I have loved “The Man from Snowy River” since i was a little girl and it had always been a dream of mine to one day see Craig’s hut in the flesh… then it was ravished by fire last year… well they have rebuilt it and thatks to our wonderful friend whom we stay with in Bonnie Doon, he took me and my family up there, knowing how much it would mean to me… / I will be returning here as i have fallen in love with the High country!

This rock in, known as Shiroyama (literally means “white mountain”), is located Arasaki Park (Yokosuka, Japan). Yokosuka is a city in Miura near Hayama, the town where I did my internship. Hayama is renowned for the beach and green hills, and this place was just a drive down. Hayama literally means “leaf mountain” in Japanese, and indeed Hayama is full of green mountains. The coast of Yokosuka, Hayama; along with other cities in Miura are popular for their beaches and offer a rich experience with nature. My first attempt at a HDR image. Not a true one in the sense that i took multiple exposure shots… i made different exposure shots with my RAW converter…then put together with photomatrix… Was good fun! Not sure it is right but i think it looks ok???

I ride alone, lost in my thoughts, taking in the beautiful sights around me. Like a pillar of strength, you appear out of nowhere when I least expected it. Patiently waiting on a letter from you …. One of those, “Oh, I’m gonna have to stop the car and take this shot” kind of moments. I love how the two left-most trees almost form an arch. Incidently this road is called Covered Bridge Road and leads to Pennsylvania’s Oldest Covered Bridge built in 1830 RIP John. My art with 1000+ views

A station that time has mostly forgotten all about stands waiting for a time that may never come. These old buildings and rails remember an era where hundreds of happy faces passed through here on their way home or on their holidays: They dream of a time long since passed. The Summer sky presents its amber glow to the station and casts its pigment all over the scene, highlighting the old charm of the woodwork and enhancing the shaddows. There is a romantic stillness captured within this scene. It is easy for us to imagine a crowd of people gathered waiting on a station that looks imaculate and yet, we can also see that this truly is the End of the Line. 3200 ISO is a brave new world for me. As a self confessed low ISO junkie, one who used Ektar 25 film whenever and wherever he could for many years because I wanted tight grain, the tighter the better, I would pull out all the stops I could to use that amazing ISO 25 film! For sure I’d never gone above ISO 1000 and then only to shoot indoor sporting events. Low ISO was(?) a hang-up for me! But I wanted to try astral photography and high ISO can get you there! However as we all know high ISO leads to increased noise which is something fairly new to me. You can use software and Photoshop plugins but I’ve been considering, one way to control noise would be to minimize or eliminate it by keeping the ISO as low as possible and that’s one way I‘m leaning. So in that regard it looks like a fast 50 prime is in order! It’s fun to be experimenting and learning, eh!
