In islam, it is forbidden to do or have permanent tattoes, so people in islam use the mix from plants, called henna, which is temporary and lasts about a week. Then have fun using any form of patterns, onto hands and feet,. Mostly the women get together on a special time like, Eid (islam christmas) or weddings or the bride, who the henna patterns are a must!. My picture is o ccourse is not made from the actual mix, but i like playing around with the idea of it all, because it seems endless fun and beautiful strong colours.

This was designed over the last few days while doing a series of bride illustrations for a friend. I thought they might look sweet on cards. It is drawn on paper with a very thin black pen. May be nice for a bridal shower or if the bride to be is feeling a bit ‘blue’ to cheer her up :)

I decided to give Katie dark hair and a garland of flowers around her crown, also a subdued background which is rather classy. For the bride on their wedding shower day, or similar occasions.

Took this photo a couple years ago and always liked it. I decided to play with it a bit in PSCS3. Converted to B&W added sepia tint, dragged it over the original color version and brought back the color slightly in select areas. Added another layer of golden textures, adjusted opacity and removed texture from model..

These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side.” / (Ps. 97:1-3) / The black lining of the Groom’s scarlet cloak is the shadow of death defeated by His love. The Bride’s black pendant is the seal of her choice to follow the Lord to the end.

The Bride answers to her Beloved: “Whatever wind is blowing: dry north, burning my garden, or gentle south breeze, whatever hardships enter my life, I say – Come, my Beloved, the garden belongs to You only. I will follow You wherever You call me. Let my life be like a table generously laid for You and Your friends.”
