Renowned for their incredible bravery and willingness to engage in battle it is often wondered if a Tiger is so brave because he is so lucky. It is said that having a Tiger in the house is the very best protection against the evils of fire and burglary. The Year of the Tiger is the third in the Chinese astrological cycle following the Year of the Ox and recurs every twelfth year. Though the starting day of the year may vary the majority of people born in the years 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986 and 1998 are Tigers Tigers do not find worth in power or money. Completely honest about what they feel they expect the same of you. They seek approval from peers and family. Because of their charming personalities Tigers are usually well liked. Failing at a given task or being unproductive in personal or professional life can cause a Tiger to experience a depression. Even more damaging is criticism from loved ones. Lke all felines, Tigers land on their feet, ready for their next act in life, pursuing it with unyielding energy and hunting to perfection. Created for Faerie Worlds Contest #2 Zodiac By no stretch of the imagination could I be called a true artist, but I do enjoy drawing and painting, so I thought I’d give the contest a try and put myself out there! / This is a pencil drawing, representing Aquarius as the water bearer, The symbolism I have chosen to use in the piece is quite basic. As Aquarius is often known as the sign attributed to spiritual wisdom and enlightenment, I have not only included the waters of knowledge flowing from the urn, but also the waters of wisdom are a part of Aquarius herself, so they are blending together. / Her hair and wings are coloured pink and purple, the colours of enlightenment and love. / And of course she is gazing up at the Goddess Moon, representing the symbiotic relationship between that heavenly body and water.
