A homage to the movie The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Detailed version here ...
You have no idea how impossible it is to get a close-up of a giraffe looking directly into the lens. This was a shot I really had to perservere with but I’m basically pleased with the outcome.
Downloaded this from the Sopranos movie trailer. LOL. Nah, it’s that damn hat again! / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——-

Personally I think there is nothing common about it! It’s botanical name is: Calochilus robertsonii. This little beauty was photographed today at Sinclare’s Gully Winery & Cellar Door at Norton Summit in the Adelaide Hills. It is the only eco- certified cellar door in the hills & the wine is very nice. They are also restoring the bush, and it is home to some wonderful native orchids and plants, as well as some stunning bird life such as the Sacred Kingfisher & the Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo. It was a wonderful afternoon. We had a tour through the bush & then lunch & wine under the magestic candle bark trees….which included a pair of Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos in plain view up amongst the branches. I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon, good company, food & wine, whilst relaxing amoungst our stunning native vegetation & wildlife…pure bliss! Sinclare’s Gully Winery & Cellar Door

The homeless population of Philadelphia is as large as ever. This particular gentleman was a wonderful character – so proud and full of spirit and dignity. He was very gracous when I asked if I could photograph him! It recently was shown and sold (11×14 print) in the Photographic Society of Philadelphia’s Exhibit at Philadelphia City Hall! Thank you kind sir!
This is a juvenile Eastern Bearded Dragon Pogona barbata that I came across while searching a pile of old fence posts in a great little woodland remnant while doing a fauna survey near Goulburn, NSW, AU. He stands perfectly still. Not even a blink of the eye. A cup sits on the ground, waiting for someone to notice. Is there enough change in there for him to buy dinner? A street performer~~ Captured at Pier 39 in San Francisco California.(USA)
Drew saves the day and all is well in the village of Yewof-in-Kernow From my children’s story “Once Upon A Winter’s Turning”, originally published by Wooden Books. The tale features a young lad from Kernow called Drew Widdershins. When a dose of the flu looks like it’s going to scupper the village’s Winter Solstice celebrations Drew, along with the stones from the local stone circle on the moor, must track down the ingredients for his mother’s heal-all herbal remedy. This book has been out of print for some time now, so I’ve decided to offer those illustrations from the book that would make ideal greetings cards or prints. / Also available as a greetings card / Also available: Drew Widdershin’s Magic Calendar
