This slogan has come from my daughter and her mate. Last week on GALAXY FM there was a request for ideas for how to cheer up someone when they’re miserable after too many drinks. My daughter texted in their saying and he rung her up for a chat on the radio, since he thought it was the funniest he’d got. If you are unfamiliar with Eastenders, on UK tv, Ian Beale is a character on that.

beale street in memphis…. if you don’t know what beale street is then you should find out as soon as possible.
This is a picture of Beale Falls. This place is just 15 minutes drive from my house here at Beale AFB. It’s a two hour walk back to it though once you get to the parking spot. My daughter and I hiked up here today to see it. She wanted to try out her new camera that her grandma sent her. She did very well, especially for a 9 year old, with the camera and the hike. Once we got up there and got a few pictures in we both took a dunk in the water. It was very cold and very refreshing. We also got to hold some very calm bullfrog tadpoles. These jokers were huge, and didn’t seem to mind the attention one bit. They would just lay in your hand (hand in water of course so not to hurt them) and then swim away. It was a very nice day spent with one of my favorite ladies.
Now Muriel plays piano / Every Friday at the Hollywood / And they brought me down to see her / And they asked me if I would - / Do a little number / And I sang with all my might / She said - / “Tell me are you a Christian child?” / And I said “Ma’am I am tonight” Excerpt from Walking in Memphis – Marc Cohn Dedicated to my Uncle: Harold Allan Swafford – RIP – Not only a brilliant yet unappreciated artist… but also a talented musician that not only walked “ten feet off Beale” but played the drums in his band there… Oh, how I wish I had more time to know him as an adult… What wonderful art he created… I wish I had known the man behind the art/music. I was just becoming an adult when he died (at age 42 – only 3 years older than me now), so I never got that chance. This is a modification of one of his paintings I created in tribute to him.

Home of the Blues.
This is a small portion of the stables here at Beale. It is so relaxing just to be up here even though it is about 2 miles from my house on base, it really seems like a different world when here. The folks here take very good care of the horses and everyone has a separate stable for their horse complete with tack room and stall. It’s actually not a bad deal to have a horse up here. They have a few hundred acres of pasture for the horses to graze in, and trails all over the place. August, 2009 Featured by the MIRTH group here: / Thank you all so much! May, 2006 Location: Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee / Beale Street is a street in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, which runs from the Mississippi River to East Street, a distance of approximately 1.8 miles (2.9 km). It is a significant location in history and the history of the blues. Today, the blues clubs and restaurants that line Beale Street are major tourist attractions in Memphis. Festivals and outdoor concerts periodically bring large crowds to the street and its surrounding areas. * More about Beale Street can be found here*: We took visiting relatives on a tour of Memphis and they wanted to see Beale Street. Since no cars are allowed on the mainly “pedestrian” streets of Beale (as indicated by the barricades that can be seen in the background of this shot) it was rather amusing to us that these signs were posted on every street light pole along the way. My Father, the one who noticed the contradiction, lagged behind the group only to be captured “breaking the law” by not only standing, but “leaning” against the pole. He was lucky he didn’t get a tow or a ticket. LOL!
Riley B. King was born on September 16, 1925, in Itta Bena Mississippi. He came to Memphis for the first time in 1946 to work as a musician. A few months later he returned home to Mississippi. Two years later King returned to Memphis where he worked at the local R&B radio station WDIA as a singer and disc jockey. This is where he gained the nickname “Beale Street Blues Boy”, later shortened to “B.B.”. In the winter of 1949, King played at a dance hall in Twist, Arkansas. To heat the hall a barrel half-filled with kerosene was lit. This was a fairly common practice at the time. During a performance, a fight broke out between two men knocking over the burning barrel. The hall burst into flames triggered an evacuation, and killing two people. The story goes that once safely outside King realized that he had left his guitar. He re-entered the burning building to retrieve his beloved $30 Gibson acoustic guitar. After learning the next day that the two men had been fighting over a woman named Lucille, King began the tradition of naming each of his guitars Lucille. / / B.B King and Lucille have been playing Rhythm and Blues together for over 60 years. If you ever been to Beale Street in Memphis Tennessee, then you’ve already seen the palace of King of Blues.
The Blues began in the cotton fields. Then it was heard in the streets where it influenced people’s music across the world. This is where it all started Beale Street Memphis Tennessee.
