We must have spent hours photographing this “Little Bee Eater” next to a river in Samburu National Park (Kenya). After a while I got lucky (although there is another one I like that will be adding soon, of a pair) and was able to get this shot. I know the name now, thank you ;) / The english name is ‘Griffon Vulture’ and the latin name is ‘Gyps Fulvus’. / In Holland we call it a ‘kale gier’ (bold vulture).

WILD AND FREE / / On the last morning of our Arctic trip we had a few hours to spend in Longyearbyen before our departure. We went for a walk along the shore and came across these Arctic Terns. They were very protective and dived bombed everyone. This image was taken with a 10mm lens – so he was pretty close! (Spitzbergen – Scandinavian Arctic) /

This handsome little dinosaur is a Trumpeter Hornbill (bycanistes bucinator). I think it’s a female as its horn is small by Hornbill beauty standards! I’ve just read on Wikipedia that these make good pets – oh, gimme gimme gimme!!! ;o) p.s. Makes me wonder what the chicks look like!!! Canon EOS 5D Mk II with Canon EF 70-200mm L IS f/4 handheld
