  • the “Je suis” paintings: first the outline is stitched onto the canvas, then I stretch the canvas and paint…this background is gold pigment in Japanese size, with Gold Leaf / then i hand bead a lot of the patterning onto the canvas. The hair is made from wools with beading etc.Shoes are all hand beaded. They’re very tactile, 3D and lluscious.

  • Taken in B&W

  • A compilation of photography and illustration for something new and fun. This photo was turned into an advertisement for a condom company.

  • This guy was pretty cool, sitting there minding his own business, and I just had to get the shot. But as I lifted the camera and looked through the lens he just broke into this mean stare into the lens like he was gonna hurt me. I saw it and quickly pressed the shutter. Later I complimented him on his tattoos and showed him the shot and it was then that his frown turned into a broad grin…phew!

  • He stole the heart (the strongest one) / The one with wings that would have flown. He stole the heart (before it grew) / No note the harm deceit would do. He stole the heart (and sad to say) / Filleted its soul with fork and knife. He stole the heart (the one with wings) / But stronger souls can trump a King. Actual artwork is 12” x 12”. Mixed media mosaic, framed in 2” deep, distressed brown solid wood shadow box that can be opened. My work is hand-beaded by gluing each bead, jewel and embellishment one by one onto foam-core using tweezers and toothpicks. I love this kind of meditative labor. I use leather, brass and silver charms and hundreds of Czech and Japanese bugle beads.

  • “I believe that in our dreams our hearts are healed.” The cool blue color palette gives this piece a peaceful, meditative feeling. Actual artwork is 11” x 11”, Mixed media mosaic, framed in 2” deep, white lacquered solid wood shadow box that can be opened. Dreams Heal is hand-beaded using vintage Swarovski crystals, ceramics, brass embellishments, glass beads, rhinestones and hundreds of Czech bugle beads.

  • Acrylic on masonite board.

  • Rain drops on a window, forming a beaded-curtain effect with golden out-of-focus orbs from the patio outside. I had my camera with me while in a cafe with my daughter and my sister, and I spotted the raindrops … then those golden orbs appeared in the viewfinder too. A lucky bonus! / . / I’m delighted that this photo has been featured on RedBubble’s front page - / . / / .

  • Water beads on a glass patio table. / /

  • A bellydancer beginning a performance.

  • A single fairy with teensy water drops :) I squirted my dandelion seeds with water from a syringe with needle, and some really tiny drops caught on the fallen fairys. I chose this single fairy to focus on, as it was easy to isolate it away from the rest. I simply used my son Levi’s blue cap as the background. The dark bit at the top is a shadow. I used natural lighting….... by the window in my kitchen. Hand held. Nothing fancy done during post processing. Full view please! Olympus E510 / Zuiko 35mm macro lens / Shutter speed 1/100 / F 4 / Iso 100

  • My advertures with water, glass and sunlight. Photographed from above the glass. Featured: Featured September 5, Art of Glass (photography only, 3/day)

  • Third in the series… three drops.. nothing too special. I shall explain the crazy set-up for this one… I had the tiny green spring (which was strung with seed beads) resting on a CD with a shiny gift bow as the background. I used a syringe to place the water drops and used my flash as well. Haha, it makes sense to me! Enjoy!

  • East / 5 ft x 7 feet / oil on canvas This is one of four in a series. They are portraits of ancient Native American spirit guides of the directions. / This is the East- guide of growth and introspection. • / / A little bit of nostalgia running through this drawing, with the good old love beads, i always love wearing love beads, and I still have some which are orange and lime … and another strand of blue and white. You can wear them so many different ways. The image was drawn in pencil on cartridge paper in my A3 spiral bound art journal and after photographing I coloured her digitally on the computer. Before I took the photo I actually painted her ‘love beads’ with acrylics and inks…and i stuck a fimo flower on her beads, which i made for another application, and then painted it naples yellow with a white centre.

  • Another of my mom’s marvellous roses – her whole garden was just so beautiful after the rain that I couldn’t stop taking photographs, everything was so magically enhanced by the strings and strings of water drop beads.
