  • CUTE What, you don’t think this little guy is cute? He’s only a couple of inches high, and you can hide it in your hand. He has a tiny metal bellows you have to set. He’s old, now: made 1950 to 1958. So, isn’t he just a cute little livin/ doll? I’ve had this little gem for about 20 years. / Once, he had lots of pals in my collection of old cameras, / but I had to leave them behind when I moved Up North. / Guess I didn’t need all that clutter anyway. >sigh< The Beacon here collapses to put it back into its case, / and when you want to use it, you simply pull the square / around the lens toward you to put the little bellows in ‘action mode’. Then you have a point ‘n’ shoot 5’ to infinity, if you can see that far. “ref 01”: http://www.merrillphoto.com/BeaconCamera.htm / “ref 02”: http://www.merrillphoto.com/BeaconCamera.htm I think it’s made of Bakelite®, which is what light-switch covers are still made of. Taken ages ago on my Olympus E500. These were my technical, less-artsy days: Alright, everybody look at me and say, “AHHHHH!” -=DS
