extreme sunset reflections
Boulders, Cornwall. Duotoned, as ever!
I bought some Singh Ray filters mid November. I did not get a chance to try them out until after Xmas – says a lot about the mad rush leading up to this period of the year. After using them I am in awe as to how effective they are. Thats what I like about tomorrows. They are always filled with promise. A clean slate with no mistakes in it, no words spoken that may have been better left unsaid… Come find me Tomorrow. Je suis pret Sisters Beach, Tasmania

I took this picture a couple of years ago at the beach of Marina di Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. / This is a fine example I think of how a fisheye lens can completely change the feeling of an ordinary scene. The subject is simply some surf on the seashore, captured from a distance of not more than a foot. / The original picture is a Fuji Velvia 50 Iso medium format slide. Hope you enjoy it, thanks for dropping by. Paolo
Taken at sunset at Laval-Ouest beach on 22/04/08(spring in Canada). Used my Canon A75. I am pleased with the color and calmness of the lake. The name came to me instantly. Although it cannot be seen by the viewer this area was flooded out and I had to take the shot from across the road as the water had spilled over. ...Australia Day weekend 2009 Torquay, Australia
taken in matagorda in lansarote in canary islands at sunset walking along the beach
Late evening, bold sky and silhouetting the remains of the old Port Willunga jetty, Port Willunga, South Australia. A favourite spot for photographers and it is rare to visit on a night without running into others with cameras!!! Canon 400D 18-55 lens with CIR Polarising filter. Converted in Photoshop CS3.
This image was taken on 1st April 2009 at Mills Beach in Mornington. / Canon 450D 18-200 lens / exp: 1/200s f5.6 / ISO 125 / I went to the beach with my family for some fish & chips and almost didn’t take my camera. My hubby talked me into it last minute. I would have been in tears!!! /

A special thanks to Dale Crum for the inspiration and the title…. stock credit: / MJRANUM for the wrestlers, / and faestock for the beach scene “Poison –BY—Love” / BY: Dale Crum / Betrayal… the blackest of black… and vilest of vile / When love abscesses… and festers a while / Blood smeared grins… unseen in the night / Sinking mud up to chins… embedding our plight / Wings snapping to pieces… and feathers on fire / Believing we trusted… false waters grew higher / Foaming up putrid lies… blinding our eyes / Curved fraudulent fangs… piercing our thighs Bleeding our soul… of the poisons of love / Lest ye never again… know the cooing of doves / For the fruit of the evil… putrefies all the rest / Forced holding of cards… all too close to the chest / Now therein lies the rub… Oh to trust once again / Of black flapping wings… wrenching back weary chins / Then how shall we conquer… this fear of the fire / When a stirring is heard… of wet embers desire? If we no longer venture… toward the warmth of heat / For dread of the burning… of betrayal’s repeat / Then do they win… those who ripped out our hearts / And keep us from feeling… romantic knew starts / How could we allow… them to steal more our joy / When we are no longer their… whimpering toy / So rise up from the muck… and wash off the mire / May our cooperative venture… new lovers inspire!
Shot with Canon 5Dmk2 and Canon 24-70 2.8L lens (34mm) at f22, 1.6sec Auto WB ISO50 in Apeture mode. / Red Rock, Yuragir National Park, Mid North Coast, NSW Australia. / 953 viewings, 40 favouritings (per group rules) I would like to thank my good friend Simone Byrne for her advice and encouragement with my landscapes. Check her out on RB if you want to see some truely outstanding photography. I think this is one of my best images. Believe it or not it is very difficult to capture images here because of its bearing and landscape. The colours of the rocks, the short duration of light and the bright sky tend to cause loss in a significant range in either highlights or darks whichever way you try to capture it. I had to use an 8 stop neutral density filter and 4 stop grad ND to get a balance between the two.
