Remains of a sailing vessel washed ashore off Carpenters Rocks, South East South Australia. The boat is submerged in sand and is only visible like this on low tides with slight winds. Had to wade out to get this shot as it was…

The Pasha Bulker ran aground at Nobby’s Beach, Newcastle, NSW, Australia on the 8th June, 2007. It has had lots of media coverage. It weighs 40,000 tonnes and may be stuck there forever. Salvage crews are working to try and remove it in the next king tide. I took this photo a few days after it ran aground. It was a horrible, windy day, but as I arrived the sun seemed to peek through the storm clouds and shon upon the ship like a spotlight. I have not digitally altered this shot in any way. It is what it is. Enjoy!!

Bacchus (Roman Myth names), the god of wine, was the son of Jupiter and Semele. Dionysus (Greek Myth names), the god of wine, was the son of Zeus and Semele. He represents not only the intoxicating power of wine, but its social and beneficent influences likewise, so that he is viewed as the promoter of civilization, and a lawgiver and lover of peace. / T_SHIRT / ALSO AVAILABLE / AKINOLAUDE /

On Brighton beach is a free boating museum, which was more just a collection of old bits and peices that didn’t work anymore. This one took my fancy and is now in my Red Bubble portfolio.

This is an installation that was in St Kilda on the beach in June last year. It’s got that really lost feeling about it which is a quality in images that I really enjoy… Simplicity… If you look at the bottom right there’s actually 2 people entering the boat. I only noticed this after I took the shot.

The lighthouse at Point Lonsdale stands guard over the very narrow shipping passage of water through the Heads to Port Phillip Bay and also as beacon of hope and a welcome sight to many a weary sailor, as they know when this is seen, it is only a few more hours until they can dock in the Ports of Melbourne and Geelong. / Psalm 27:1 / A Psalm of David. / 1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; / Whom shall I fear? / The LORD is the strength of my life; / Of whom shall I be afraid?
