after many many hours and km’s…. this storm was dead and I thought I had missed a ‘dream shot’. This shot was taken on an overcast and rainy day at Flynn’s Beach in Port Macquarie.. I had to take a shot as the colour of the water was a very nice blue-green.. I was also happy with the way I captured the wave crashing on the rocks offshore.

In the warm summer night, I watched this amazing dry storm cell pass over me from the West. It looked like it was going to cross right over top of me – so I made an escape plan (run like hell!) But in the end, it turned north and head away from me – not before I captured this. My Long Tail boat..on another island around the fabulous South of Thailand :)) Image description speaks for itself.. One day…I ‘ll go back … Thankyou to Catherine Veal for describing this image as wonderfully as this :- Shangri-La is a fictional place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by British author James Hilton. In the book, “Shangri-La” is a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the Kunlun Mountains. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise but particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia—a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. In the novel Lost Horizon, the people who live at Shangri-La are almost immortal, living years beyond the normal lifespan. The word also evokes the imagery of exoticism of the Orient.*

A small tree hanging on to the foreshore dunes at Southend, Limestone Coast South Australia. Roots exposed and sand blown away from it’s base it continues to stand against the elements… Never Never Never give up…...!!!! Canon 400D, 18 – 55 lens with Polarising filter. Just prior to sunrise over Corio Bay, on what was promising to be a rather wet and stormy day, at Griffin’s Gully, Geelong. These promising signs were spoken of by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, in the Bible, centuries ago. Matthew 16:1-3 The Pharisees and Sadducees Seek a Sign 1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. /

On the second day we were in Punta Cana, a storm rolled in and eventually turned the horizon black. This was taken about an hour before but the warning of wind, rain and darkness were already present in the early afternoon.
