This shot was taken off of US Highway 98 in Destin, FL on Okaloosa Island which is a barrier island that separates the Gulf of Mexico from Choctawhatchee Bay. The gulf is typically pretty calm in this area. this is one of a series of three. This one is for a commission. Knowing a little about the person, besides knowing he likes red, and abstract, and loads of texture, he’s also gone through big change in his life (new business, going well, old relationship ended) One of the things he loves in his business is seeing a ‘situation’ and cleaning it up to be fresh, sparkling and better than expected. Bearing this in mind, the surface of the canvas was highly textured. There is loads of ‘chaos’ that is steam rolled through, leaving a shining path. It is a visual reminded of his efforts of the day, and the mark he leaves on the world. It is vision of happiness, a job well done, a tribute to freedom and moving forward. I have amped up the colour so it looks great in print.

A little bit of fun on the beach :-) Featured in

/ / “Beach Picnic” is a pencil drawing which I’ve coloured digitally, I hope you like this image with mother and daughter in similar sundresses. As a child we enjoyed beach picnics all the time, mum would make us special fried chicken (better than Kentucky Fried) and we would go out on the boat to a little island, where i would play with soldier crabs for hours on end, while dad fished and mum sunbaked… they were wonderful times. We also went on the annual Beach Picnic to Bonny Hills with the church and we were great friends with the priest back in those days who was a top water skier.. We would see so many things at Bonny Hills, sea snakes slithered past in the creek where we were swimming and there were amazing white clay deposits in the sand….hours of fun were had by all… not to mention we even had a little mass there… top fun :)
