“Art Inspired by Song” / The Girl from Ipanema – Antonio Carlos Jobim,Frank Sinatra / Lyrics: Tall and tan and young and lovely / The girl from ipanema goes walking / And when she passes, each one she passes goes – ah When she walks, shes like a samba / That swings so cool and sways so gentle / That when she passes, each one she passes goes – ooh (ooh) but I watch her so sadly / How can I tell her I love her / Yes I would give my heart gladly / But each day, when she walks to the sea / She looks straight ahead, not at me Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely / The girl from ipanema goes walking / And when she passes, I smile – but she doesnt see (doesnt see) / (she just doesnt see, she never sees me,...) / T_SHIRT / / FROM MUSIC SERIES / MODERN TIMES / / / PLAY MY MUSIC / / / ALWAYS MY MUSIC!! / / / DO YOU HEAR ME? / / / DANCE /

On the beach at sunrise on West Island, over looking Pulu Maria, Cocos Islands. / Arriving at the beach with the promise of another stunning day, my husband turned off the car key, reclined the seat and went back to sleep!

Twice a day as the tides receed nature’s tidal artwork is unveiled – and what an exhibition it can be ! At glance it may be missed…but with a keener eye patterns emerge..sometimes contoured, other times smooth. Only can nature make such pieces of work that define true beauty on a seemingly endless scale. / / / Canon EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / see more of my photography from Nth Qld below / / /

faintly shimmering off the Coral sea the final light on the horizon glows through the colour spectrum as Venus also descends in the sky. / / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / see more photographic works from North Qld. by clicking on the preview below

Another magic sunset in paradise. The colours in this shot have only been tweaked the tiniest amount to make this image more true to what I was actually seeing. When the pink started to reflect on the wet sand I was jumping around like an excited little schoolgirl!

Morning has broken on the Victorian west coast…the receding tide temporarily leaves a perched pool above the waveline. / / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / see more from this series and other parts of our majestic coast by clicking below /

As dawn breaks on a low tide revealing an incredible array of tidal sand patterns. I discover something that appears out of the ordinary – ‘against the grain…’ / I am unsure of what sort of worm or creature is the architect of this mighty fine little structure but it certainly caught my attention. / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / see more of my photography from Nth Qld below /

This is a digital painting done free hand completely in Photoshop CS2. I used an intuous 3 tablet by wacom. I used two different Photoshop brushes to achieve different effects in order to achieve the texture of the shell. This style is somewhat impressionistic. I wanted to emphasize the bright, bold sunset colors inside the conch shell. I painted this with my love for the ocean, beach, and sand all in mind! The fascinating thing about conchs is how you can hear the ocean when you place the opening up to your ear. This painting is calling you to hear the ocean. This painting will be a part of a nautical themed series. Blog Website

I bought some Singh Ray filters mid November. I did not get a chance to try them out until after Xmas – says a lot about the mad rush leading up to this period of the year. After using them I am in awe as to how effective they are. It’s gone from light to gray / But I’ll move those clouds away / Letting the sun shine through / In this ode to you / Let the demons have their place / If so it’s angels you’ll create / And disguised within the dark / Light will wait / My heart I owe you my soul Dredg – Ode to the Sun

The third artwork in the Nautical Series. This digital landscape is a digital painting done in both Corel Painter and Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom Intuos3 tablet. No photo references were used. The blazing sun sets behind a dancing ocean. I was going for a minimalistic look here—the beach, the sunset, a single bird. What more could one ask for? Blog Website
