Arlington West is an ongoing display of the casualties in Iraq on East Beach in Santa Barbara, to protest against the war in Iraq, and increase the public awareness regarding the military and political fallout of staying there. Each Sunday morning thousands of crosses, as the number of the fallen, for that day, are placed in the sand and volunteers are providing the public with up to the moment information on casualties plus individual stories on the fallen. “Harmony” is a mixed media production (ink, pastel, acrylic) on canvas textured paper, the idea at first was to create a feeling of stained glass…i have a love of stained glass, and transparent things….i love light filtering through…and how light plays….i was looking for a name for the painting today….and ‘Harmony’ just seemed to go ‘hand in hand’ with these three friends

Fell in deep like with Jake the Clydesdale on a visit to a working farm. He got bored after the carrots ran dry and wandered off in disgust. So, here he is, set free on a beach & processed with love. A tribute to all the pretty horses and the peace they breathe into our battered souls.
