This Panorama was taken at Sealer’s Cove on the east coast of Wilsons Promontory National Park. I thought it was great to have the natural patterns in the sand and water, with the sets of couples walking in the distance.

Lines made by the winds in the sand serve as a background to dune grassess bent over by the same winds. Sundays River, Eastern Cape, South Africa.

AKA ‘Lead Balloon’ :-) / okay, this may sink like the proverbial lead balloon but I’m feeling brave and I’m uploading because I like it – lol / What is it? Well, it’s a rock and pebbles on the same Arran beach as the last upload and it’s hard to describe but I liked the ‘feel’ of the image that, in some way, detail and accuracy detracted from. I wanted something that retained the outline and colours in some form but wasn’t immediately recognizable. Eventually, I used a few tools in Photoshop (extrusion and a dissolving layer) to produce this. If you looked at it – thanks. / If you’ve read all the above – thanks again! Richard

One little purple and white flower creeping along the sand can become something else with just one click!
Low tide in Darwin sees the beachgoers going on long hikes just to get to the water’s edge. It seems a little pointless that the lifesaver flags and life-savers have a half hour jog just to find the water before they even find the person that needs rescuing. But perhaps with the saltwater crocs of Northern Territory, no rescuing will actually save a swimmer in trouble! Anyway, beautiful beaches with amazing sand patterns make for some great photo opportunities.
