Body of work that is. ;) It is with great pleasure I show you the art that is now in a better place, gone, not to meet their maker, but their founder. The person who will shall the rest of their life-their new admirer. To say it clearly-I have sold some art this year! Rather than tack it into the last journal entry, I’ve decided to make a 2008 sales list. It’ll help me keep track. (mwah ha ha, because it’s wonderfully popular). Yes, it’s great to feel that way sometimes. Often, I go, “that’s nice, achievement made” without really appreciating how awesome that feels. You make art, and if someone else likes it, it is wonderful. I bought an art magazine recently which nominated 50 of the most collectable artists in Australia. I’ve decided I’d like to be on that list. Of course, I’d like to remain anonymous so I can walk down the street, and have an agent…other than that, no clue as to how it will happen, just that I need to keep painting. Anyhoo. I went rollerblading once. It felt so good, I thought I could do this forever. It was like-I’m good at this, I can do it-I’m going fast, not falling over: I could be an olympic racer. Totally normal. Totally human to dream. However dreams require effort. Here are some of the dreams I put into reality, shared with the world and belong in other hands. As of 2008. building a bridge-maroon dots / summer flow.+ / Gallery 26 second opening texture of sound / Fish face / the big O-yeah / clean to Damian / pulses of knowing to Rob / red eye to Rob / butterfly type twp to Teresa / “woodley”: to Rob / ! thank Robs-your a fantastic patron!

  • In “Seagull In Flight 2” the focus is primarily on the seagull and it’s contrasting shadow. Both moving in equally opposing directions as the seagull glides close over the peaceful mid-day sand… Oil on Stretched Canvas 36 X 60 inches / 92 X 153 cm contact my Agents at Gallery 112 / ...................................................................

  • This is the actual shape of the canvas This is where the entire shape of the canvas itself becomes an integral part of the overall theme. The canvas is tapered to give the illusion that the top of the canvas is leaning back and the bottom is protruding forward towards the viewer. / The blue represents both the waves of the ocean and the point where the horizon line of the ocean and sky meet. / The seagull itself is reduced down to its barest essential shape and color. With one wing up and one wing down representing the seagull’s constant wing movement as it seems to hover above the seascape. • In this painting I have endeavored to reduce the landscape down to its absolute minimum, focusing purely on the line of salt-bush on the horizon, with one solitary bird hovering in the air, to give the impression of the raw empty heat of a mid day summer where nothing stirs until l the cool of the evening. . . • A humble hommage to a great painter who’s work I admire but so far could not afford. / The picture shows Baudin Beach on Kangaroo Island, at dusk

  • This picture of palm trees at sunset was taken on Thailand and was converted to oil painting.

  • Watercolour painting – Moscow, Russia / Standard water colour paper

  • This is a small painting, just 27.5×19.2. You can see hints of the initial earthy layer of egg tempera I’ve used as a base colour on top of this I’ve worked up the image in many layers using glazes of oil paint. The image is based on an imagining. Thematically I was hoping to emphasise different/opposing areas. For such a small painting it can be divided into five sections; between the sky, the mountains, the sea, the sunken structure, and the land. This creates a strong sense of divide but at the same time there is a strong sense of tranquillity and beauty to the painting.

  • In life you find yourself following paths. Sometimes those paths come around and lead back to the same place. Other paths you take never return you to where you started from, rather they lead you to another choice. Like the ocean, you can choose to return and surf it the same way again, or you can create a new path, one that leads you to new and exciting experiences. This is represented by the artist creating an autobiographical representation of his life leaving the North West to find a new path.

  • Another piece inspired by music from The White Buffalo. This wild and seemingly disorganized piece tells the story of a man and his quest to not lose his mind. After failing, he continues down the road of degradation, confusion, and the loss of sanity. Lucky for him he has his surf, and I have the art.

  • While the messenger has been preaching for many years, traveling the world far and near, he grows tired. Once again, using the baroque style mixed in with my own surf art twist, I have presented the viewer with many options. The symbols represent the messenger’s journey through time. Each one symbolizing a difficulty he has encountered.

  • This is going to be the new cover for the new edition I will be publishing to the book The Betrayal of Man. You can see the struggle, the ocean has fighting off the temptress, who is created from Oil, Corruption, Reproduction and Pollution. The surfer is torn between his love for the temptress and his love for the ocean. He has fought many battles with his conscience and is beginning to take the side of the ocean. This painting has many hidden themes. Now on display at the CAP Gallery, Laguna Beach.

  • This depicts two sides pulling the messenger both ways. Do they listen to the Lion? Do they listen to the Serpent? What decision does the messenger make about water? The painting contains many symbols, Latin phrases and hidden themes. This surf art is the first step in creating a stimulus of thought and historical reference.

  • El Uno beckons one’s spirit to be the last one. What a job it must be to be the last one of your kind. Preserving yourself, looking for another. It must be the same way for the last wave of a swell. The final pulse of energy. Surf Art finite.

  • Created to show light, spring air, and reflect the Central California Coast, it will bring a smile to your face, as it did mine when I created it.

  • This was the first in a series of experiments in movement and color. Female surfers have a movement about them that resembles a flower flowing in the wind.

  • Arabian Horse On The Beach Portrait

  • SUNSET AT PUNTA ALLEN MEXICO

  • An original oil on canvas seascape showing people enjoying a day at the beach. Painted: June 2009 / Type: Oil on canvas / Size: 75×60 x 1.5 Handpainted, signed one-off, original available.

  • oil painting of a nude on the beach
