  • Took this a couple of weeks ago of my little girl at the beach and realised it’s potential this morning when I started to play with the colour, light and layers so of course I though that I would share!

  • Bar Beach / Newcastle NSW Australia

  • Twilight storm at Lido Key beach. The two brightest celestial bodies are the Moon and Venus. Because of the storm most people cleared the beach, but because of the storm, I was drawn towards it. I did not get another good shot of lightning that evening – I forgot to bring my tripod, so the photos prior to this one are too blurred. I captured this clear shot by setting my camera on a beach chair, and propping up the lens with one of my flip-flops. And this stroke of lightning was the last significant one. But I’m sure grateful for it! I didn’t modify the picture except to increase the brightness and contrast a bit, and remove camera artifacts. I’m not too good at making photos look more ‘artistic’, but for landscape, atmospheric, and flower photos, I think I prefer the more natural look. / (Photo taken on July 17, 2007)

  • Last light of the day in Inverloch, Victoria. / 16mm wide-angle with graduated neutral density filter.

  • Or maybe just show off!! This is my hubby ‘trying’ his best to do a hand stand at the beach a few days ago! Probably not one of my ‘artistic best’ but nevertheless fun! Enjoy :o)

  • Late evening shot of the Causeway to Granite Island, Victor Harbor.

  • Laukaa, Finland.

  • Thunderstorm at Lido Key beach, Florida. The two brightest celestial bodies are the Moon and Venus. • A passing storm at Black Rock, near Barwon Heads. The remnants of a rainbow just visible beneath the storm cloud. /

  • Taken at Black Rock near Barwon Heads. The storm had just passed out to sea and let the late evening light illuminate the water.

  • Another picture from Skye taken a week or so ago. The tide coming in rapidly on Elgol beach with the Black Cuillin mountains in the distance. Long exposure of 30 secs @f16

  • Gerroa is an idyllic village at the Kiama end of Seven Mile Beach on the south coast of New South Wales … their sunset on Tuesday (6 January 08) was aided by smoke haze from bushfires in the Morton National Forest. After a day in which temperatures reached 40 degrees celsius and beyond, there were plenty of relaxed holiday-makers still enjoying the ambience, the breeze and the spectacular skies. • Late day sun shines as waves crash against peir pilings. Ocean Beach, San Diego. Canon 40D

  • Here’s my oldest boy paddling out just like me to watch the sunset after a very hot summer’s day. And yes, here I’m also in the water after him with the camera! / It’s similar to ‘My sunset’ but I wanted to share this one also :o) Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens / processed in RAW with only the contrast and colour slightly upped, the rest is all real! No photoshop as I have already been asked.

  • Taken at Pt.Addis victoria

  • Taken near Burns Beach just north of Perth Western Australia /

  • Looking out to sea at Llandulas at Colwyn Bay , North Wales.

  • Here my first shot from this summer’s stay at the Baltic Sea. This heron seemed to have come to one of these stones to settle for the night. Indeed I had seen it some days earlier at the same place in the early morning, assuming it was the same heron. As herons do, it stood very still. This allowed me to take several 5 second shots. As I had no tripod with me that evening, I placed the camera on a big stone on the beach, trying to hold it as still as possible. The rest was good luck. / The shot was taken on the beach near the lighthouse of Buelk near Kiel on the Baltic Sea. The lights in the distance are from the sea-side resort Damp, many miles away on the opposite side of the Bay of Eckernförde. Near Buelk, 28th August 2009, 8.49 pm / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 200 mm / F 13, 5 sec., F 100 Here the morning shot:

  • Rota Island – August 2009 / straight out of the camera / Life on this island is friendly and unhurried and the hospitality is as unforgettable as the magical sunsets. Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret / Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain. Rota has diverse flora and fauna.. / Wikipedia ©2009/2010 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.
