Just another day at the seaside today – but the sun was out – still cold though.
Just another day on the beach with the Parkins.
Here’s one of my oldest son at the beach right before a storm.. I love the cloud formations.

Here are my 3 playing at the beach during a storm. I’ve had a bit of a play with colours and liked the end result. I find this quite dreamy and surreal almost.
Yes, they are my feet and I’m relaxing on the beach watching the kids play in the water. I gave this image some texture and it reminds me of a very lazy, Aussie summer’s day at the beach.
I know that in an artistic sense this is quite simple, however to me it has great meaning. The image is of my two boys who are also the best of friends. They have an unbreakable bond and here, they are doing something they love; just being together.
Here’s a photo of my younger son and his best friend playing at the beach during a sunset a few weeks ago. I just like this simple capture.
Here’s a photo of my little girl taken noon today basking in the warm sun at the local beach. I just find this image very relaxing
Took this a couple of weeks ago of my little girl at the beach and realised it’s potential this morning when I started to play with the colour, light and layers so of course I though that I would share!
To me, this photo symbolizes the beautiful journey of a father and son through life.. Silhouettes are my favorite thing to capture, there is so much emotion without even seeing facial expressions.

Here’s an old photo of my little girl converted to b&w..It was a hot summers evening with an approaching storm.
Here (again) is my little girl and my hubby.. He was carrying her because she wanted cuddles as she was cold..
Here’s my oldest boy paddling out just like me to watch the sunset after a very hot summer’s day. And yes, here I’m also in the water after him with the camera! / It’s similar to ‘My sunset’ but I wanted to share this one also :o) Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens / processed in RAW with only the contrast and colour slightly upped, the rest is all real! No photoshop as I have already been asked.
Another in the series I am trying so hard to create! Only 5 more to go! / Thanks as always to Renee at ‘playing with brushes’ for the vintage child’s image / The rest is from my trip last weekend to VA beach. The weather was lousy but at least I got some good shots!
/ pencil drawing of beachcombers / Beachcombers / a little drawing I created by hand a few weeks ago, I’ve just completed painting this one digitally, in time for Mother’s Day in Australia which falls on May 10 (just happens to be my birthday too :) Here’s the before shot: / / Karin (myself) and Sal (my mum) at Yamba on holiday in 1968

Here is a re-worked image of my little girl and my husband which was on RB a while ago.. I keep coming back to it so finally decided to play with it and here it is… I originally had this image in colour but got some great advice from a fellow bubbler to try it in b&w so I did…... This image was taken when my little girl fell over on the rocks and hurt her knees and her daddy gave her a piggy back to the car before the storm came.
Ahh summer has arrived early for some of us this year. After a day at the beach last weekend, I was able to get that good old feeling back that only summer can bring! These kids were playing around at the beach, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of a time in life when going to the beach, making a sand castle, digging a hole to fill when tide comes in, finding something living a rock and burying someone in sand were the best things you could ever do. Life’s simple pleasures. I live for a sunny day. Taken at Port Melbourne Beach Original shot layered once and a free use texture from www.deviantart.com – tagger stock layered on top, with a slight adjustment of RGB. Finally, omni lighting effect applied. Canon 50D / 18 – 55, 58mm / f11, 1/250, ISO 100 MCN: CC3BP-T4CDV-S575Y More Textured work:
