Cape Cod, MA =========================================== So cold, the tracks were literally frozen in time.

My favorite place, always changing, never the same…...... Inverness Beach, Inverness Nova Scotia on Cape Breton Island. Named after Inverness Scotland. Most of the population here are of Scottish descent. Some still speak Gaelic. All play some musical instrument or sing and “kitchen parties” are not a thing of the past.
Days Cottages in North Truro Massachusetts, closed until next summer.
I was lucky enough to be at Herring Cove, part of the Cape Cod National Seshore, in Provincetown Mass, for a stunning sunset.
West Cape Howe / Western Australia Racing against the light I was taking my mates along 4wd tracks heading to the most southern point in WA. A split second decision and we ended up here on this stunning beach just as the sun disappeared. I snapped a couple of compositions and then we headed back. With a pounding surf the long exposure had stunning results. You can view more of my images at / www.swilliamsphotos.com and my blog / www.swilliamsphotos.wordpress.com
The cliffs of Cape Blanco reflect the reason for their name in this image from the beach below the lighthouse, taken during low tide. Piles of driftwood can be seen at the base of the cliffs, which wash up during the winter storms and high tides. Nikon D700 w/ 50 mm 1.8 lens @ f/2.0. 1/15th, ISO1600
Hosts Selections – AllParks Group A barquentine setting sail from the headland made me think how little must have changed since Matthew Flinders charted these beautiful waters exactly 200 years earlier. I have curved the horizon to portray the early adventures who set sail to prove the world was round! From a day at Lucky Bay Cape Le Grand National Park Western Australia January 2002. Early in the morning before sunrise, I waded into ankle deep water about a mile into a saltmarsh on Nantucket Sound. My goal for the morning was greater yellowlegs, green herons and other waders usually most active in the morning. I had not counted on catching a sharp-tailed sparrow. There was a ton of mud caked to the legs of my tripod after this one, but I think it was worth it. The saltmarsh sharp-tailed sparrow is a very secretive species and is not often seen. These birds are strictly found in normally inaccessible saltmarshes, so not much is known about their breeding habits. The species has a tiny range that tightly hugs part of the east coast; therefore, with the destruction of a large percentage of the natural saltmarshes along the east coast, the population of saltmarsh sharp-tailed sparrows is declining. They are now considered a threatened species in most areas. Buck’s Creek – Ridgevale Beach / Chatham, Massachusetts September 2, 2009 Canon 50D / Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS
