Its late at night, you are restless, can’t sleep. A walk on the beach seems like a fine idea. No one is around. Just the sounds of the waves and the wind. The lonely wail of an offshore buoy, consistent and haunting. / You hear the sounds of your feet as you walk through the sand toward the path to the beach. / Nearing the path you wonder if it was such a good idea to walk out here alone at night. You hear rustling, the wind, you wonder? The buoy, beating it’s tune to the rhythm of the waves. A fog rolling in, brings a feel of unease to you. Looking down the path you wonder. Should I go? What was that sound? You strain to hear, but the sound of the waves and the wind leave you wondering if you really heard anything at all. And suddenly, the hairs on your arms rise….....

Taken during Art in All of Us (www.artinallofus.org) activities last month in the island of St Kitts. The AiA Awareness Program (http://www.artinallofus.org/about-us/programs.html) introduces multicultural exchanges and knowledge during visits into schools by introducing photographic and other interactive cultural activities. One child wanted to express the idea of being made out of sand and being happy with it. He made the composition…. I just pressed the button ;-) Inspire children is part of our mission, giving them a voice is our duty… All proceeds from sales of pictures will go to the child art education project of Art in All of Us (WWW.ARTINALLOFUS.ORG) /

Background Information: / Tofino is a village of about 1,650 residents on the west coast of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada, located at the western terminus of Highway 4. Tofino and the nearby town of Ucluelet are the closest towns to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Tofino Inlet was named in 1792 by the Spanish commanders Galiano and Valdés, in honor of Admiral Vicente Tofiño, under whom Galiano had learned cartography. A popular tourist destination in the summer, Tofino’s population swells to many times its winter size. It attracts surfers, nature lovers, campers, whale watchers, fishermen, or anyone just looking to be close to nature. Close to Tofino is Long Beach, a scenic and popular year-round destination, at the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Nearby Maquinna Marine Provincial Park, with its natural hot springs, is located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) north of Tofino and is also a popular day-trip destination for tourists although it is only reachable by boat or float plane.
