Sorry for not posting many shots over the past few weeks and not leaving any replies. I have been really busy with work and work around the house. I can tell you the past few days have been the worst choice to do some work around the Garden. Anyway here are two HDR – Sunrise shots from a few weeks ago taken from Victoria Road near the old White Bay Power Station. I hope you like it. Spanish City is in Whitley Bay (UK) and was a place where tourist would flock too. It has the most beautiful beaches but unfortunately there has been a decline in the urban side – however, saying that there is apparently a commitment for regeneration. What makes me sad is that we allow things to fall into this kind of disrepair in the first place – beautiful places like this are blighted by closed down hotels, pubs, amusement parks and cafes. This is part of my college project.

I have always loved Sea urchins and have always collected them from when i was a child right up into adulthood. They would be the first thing I would look for when I got out of my car and my feet hit the sand on the beach. Suprisingly there arent that many to be found anymore on the beach where I have always gone to find them. sony ax 300 SLR 70 – 200ml lense.

For some reason this reminds me of a scene from Moby Dick… minus the whale of course. / / I was actually going Cod fishing with some friends for the first time off the Eastern coast of Newfoundland…. just had to bring the camera of course. Those clouds on the horizon kicked up such a fierce wind and it created some very large swells that relieved me of my lunch lol! This is stunning Hanson Bay on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, Australia. This was taken in summer on a perfect day and is probably my favourite beach on Kangaroo Island. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera and a 18-55mm lens.

With the global economy caught in the gravity of the financial crisis, it’s sad that programs like the Constellation Project will have a long wait before anything truly gets off the ground. / / NASA’s Constellation Project is set up to finish the International Space Station, retire the Shuttle Fleet and build a whole new fleet of space vehicles which will take us back to the Moon, then Mars and then the places beyond. / / But with Congressional limitations and funding cutbacks due to the financial crisis, as well as being stuck with a complicated and restrictive “go as you pay” finance structure it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing any groundbreaking manned space flights in the naughties. / / This image represents a fleeting memory of a childhood dream to see man explore our planets and then the stars beyond and it’s one of the few things as a child I looked up to America for. / / The universe is a big place and we’re yet to make it out of our solar system but without programs like the Constellation Project, man may never ever get to make another giant leap. / / DETAIL / / / /

Location / St Margaret’s Bay, Kent, England August 2009: Taken 45 minutes before sunrise and facing away from where the sun rises from. The glow of red above the famous white cliffs are those from the docks at Dover which handles the cross channel ferries to France (one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world)

Like some watch tower of ancient times, this stack in Marsden Bay in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, just caught a fast moving spot light of the sun through the clouds. The broken rock and pebbles on the shore seemed to be mirrored by the clouds as they raced over. Converted into pinhole black and white to highlight the almost prehistoric feel to this bit of coast line Best viewed large.
