This was my first RedBubble post and one of my personal faves. / I shot this at Jervis Bay, the day after a cyclone up in Queensland created some amazing sea swell even this far down the coast. The cliffs they were breaking against are 100m high and these were going halfway up so were pretty spectacular I can tell you. The day before they were going all the way up the cliffs and then some but I didn’t realise I had the camera on autofocus and they all came out blurry in the low light – very, very frustrating as I’ve never seen waves like them. I was driving along a road in a seaside town at Jervis Bay National Park, just 2.5 hours south of Sydney Australia when I glimpsed this moon through some trees with a pathway of silver light across the water. A lucky moment, in that all the elements were there but tricky in putting them together because it was so dark I couldn’t see anything through the viewfinder and had to keep taking pics, viewing them on the LCD display and then moving the tripod to get the composition I wanted. / It looks to me like the trees on either side of the moon are partners about to dance onto the floor of some enchanted ballroom. This is a composite photo taken in Shalimar, FL near the edge of the bay. It was a glorious summer night. I applied the NIK skylight filter to deepen the reds in the picture. I also shot the sun on the same night to the west of the bank. I’ve combined them for a rich summer night shot. / /

It was a cold day and the tide was far out meaning that parts of the beach that are usually cut off by the tide were accessable and I could walk a mile or so along the beach from the car park to reach this spot.

Leaning over the docks I noticed this school of minnows that kept dispersing and rejoining in intricate patterns in the water. My husband did not think I should upload this to RB but I find it an interesting abstract of the underwater world. Shot at Corio Bay, Geelong. Amazing clouds and perfectly calm. The sun had just gone behind a cloud and this acute contrast was the result. This shot was so cool… cause the capt let me shoot while the boat was nearly on it side like a catamaran.. it was so compelling to be almost thrown over.. I kid you not.. the best for me is the mystery.. / will I survive.. ??? Camera stratagy.. I had a plan to toss it to someone as I may have slipped in.. tee hee.. all kinds of adrenalin .. goings on.. / Hope he likes it.. this and the a few other close ups of crew.. I am so happy with. Corio Bay in Geelong really turned it on this morning. I saw this from my window and jumped in the car immediately. Unfortunately, in the 5 minutes it took to get there, the beautiful pinks were gone but still quite spectacular. / Image as shot – no adjustments. / Nikon D700 with 24-70 mm lens
