  • This place is called The Elephant Cove (located at the Williams Bay) near a South West coastal town called Denmark, Western Australia.

  • This is a composite photo taken in Shalimar, FL near the edge of the bay. It was a glorious summer night. I applied the NIK skylight filter to deepen the reds in the picture. I also shot the sun on the same night to the west of the bank. I’ve combined them for a rich summer night shot. / /

  • End of the day and nearing the end of our recent Winter. Taken along the Mornington Peninsula. Vic. Aus. Thanks for looking….cheers, Rob.

  • red skys at night sailors Delight.

  • Sunset at Moonta Bay, Yorke Peninsula, Feb 2nd 2008 / / / More Seascape Images / / / /

  • A Blue Heron taking off into the sunset. Taken in Fort Walton Beach Florida. This picture almost looks prehistoric! This shot truly was about being at the right place at the right time.

  • Rainbow Rocks, a small bay near Southend, Limestone Coast South Australia. Favourite place to spend the last hours of the day as the sun goes down.

  • The Shark Bay Sunset Pelican Parade happens each evening, as the pelicans pack cruises close to the shoreline of Monkey Mia. Their dusk swim coincides with the return of the fishermen, who then clean their days catch on the beach. The pelicans approach in the hope of receiving a tidbit. Some see them as nuisances, but they are forever graceful and comical – and not shy when it comes to trying to snatch some fish! Taken at sunset in Monkey Mia, Shark Bay, Western Australia. Taken with a Canon 5D, 100-400mm L Series Lens @ 130mm, f5.6, 1/125th sec, ISO 1600, handheld. As is – the vignetting is natural, caused by the light subsiding around the bright sun. Featured in Waterfowl Group, Feb 2009, Australian Travel Photography Group & Animal Kingdom Group, May 2009. Featured in Pelicans Group, Nov 2009. Winner of Sunsets over Western Australia Challenge in the Western Australia Group, April 2009.

  • Last light again, looking South from the Causeway at Victor Harbor along the Esplanade across the ocean. Quite dark and brooding but available lighting was troublesome here. Canon 400D, HDR and adapted in Photomatix 2.5. Best Viewed large.

  • What do you call the light that permanently imprints itself into the deepest corner of your cerebral real estate? Just a memorable one, divine, sublime? The star was going down fast, as it was just a matter of ‘to get it over and done with‘ a daily sunset routine – until that moment. Like it was switched on by some all powerful hand residing somewhere in the center of a kingdom of light, the sunbeam reached across the valley, bringing all the associated attributes with it, like joy and warmth, just for a few moments, before disappearing altogether. The blue cold haze drowned the beautiful Hawkes Bay valley, but not before the last ray of sun got there first. I was standing in awe … for a while in fact, still in disbelief. Review button and LCD screen confirmed it did happen. Sweet. I’ll treasure selfishly the melody of breeze passing through the treetops, the smell of golden grass and feel of fallen leafs under my feet. Not to worry, I left something to share with you. Here it is.

  • This image was taken at Honeymoon Bay, Freycinet Peninsula, Tasmania. I like it because it has a children’s storybook feel to it. I spent half an hour photographing a group of little girls playing under the tree. There were five more of them out of sight, closer to the water. These two were the teachers and the others were the class. In this shot one of the girls put her arm around the other (not really the usual sort of thing that teachers do) to present a charming moment! As the sun was sinking it was magic! I shot it dark to enhance the silhouette and to intensify the colours in the sky. This image has won a couple of l awards and was part of a greeting card set called Light, Land and Water. Captured with a very old second-hand nikon 25-50 zoom. A great lens! Velvia scan. “Friends Forever” was featured in the group Dawn and Dusk Light.

  • Tonights Sunset at Warners Bay, Lake Macquarie, NSW. Long exposure: f/22, ISO100, 124sec. FEATURED in the “Light & Reflection” and the “Dawn & Dusk Light” groups

  • Title from a certain Chris Isaak song… I haven’t been taking a lot of photos whilst enjoying my stay in San Francisco but this little visit to a certain bridge we all know, made the fact that I hadn’t been out not matter to me at all, I absolutely loved this spot and I can’t wait to come back to this great city and explore it a little bit more… Without a doubt this is already one of my favourite photos out of the many thousands I have taken over the past 18 months or so, thanks for looking :D / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm IS.
