On a moody Spring evening, dense but scattered clouds roll across the bay threatening to open up and pour on anything that falls their path. The setting sun casts its light across the clouds making them glow in a way that makes them appear to be on fire. The stunning colour of the sand comes up through the shallow water in unusual blues and greens while at the same time mixing with the oranges and reds of the sky.

I love this, the convergence of the elements, and the feeling of being so inconsequential beneath this big sky.

Thought I would see if I could capture the feel of the tide approaching . Taken at dusk perched on rocks with the aid of a Benbo tripod with legs you can lock at any angle . The exposure was around 30 seconds at f16 using a Canon10D with a 17-34 Tamrom at 17 mm . I believe I achieved what I set out to do and find peace whenever I look at this picture . Its my screensaver at work and usually pops up just when needed and is without manipulation , as the camera recorded .

This shot was taken in a gorgeous place called Spoon Bay. A wonderful feeling of remoteness to it even though it’s only a 10 min hike down a track. The rocks are gorgeous (that is if you are like me and love rocks and textures). The rock is a green sandstone (haven’t seen this colour anywhere else) and the sand is a deep golden colour. I took this photo because Ioved the contrasts in colours, textures and the movement of the sea in the middle of it all. Caught this back in Summer – February. Bonbeach is one of the nicest beaches on Port Phillip Bay, although I am a little biased. Being particular fair skinned, this is definately the best time to go for a swim.

I have always loved Sea urchins and have always collected them from when i was a child right up into adulthood. They would be the first thing I would look for when I got out of my car and my feet hit the sand on the beach. Suprisingly there arent that many to be found anymore on the beach where I have always gone to find them. sony ax 300 SLR 70 – 200ml lense.

According to tradition, Sestri Levante was founded by the Ligurian tribe of the “Tigullii” and it was already known in the Roman Age under the name “Segesta Tigulliorum”. The ancient core of the town developed in the Middle Ages in a fortified position on the “island”. After the 15th century, the town expanded onto the alluvial plain south of the Gromolo river. Sestri Levante then became part of the Fieschi family’s domain, until it passed under the flags of the Republic of Genoa, which built the castle on the “island” and kept control of the town until the Napoleonic conquest.
