This image was created at the Apollo Bay Docks early in 2008, went here for a holiday just as I was getting into Photography. I went down to the docks just as a storm was rolling in and it made for some interesting weather conditions! This pic was created from one raw file. I changed the exposures in Lightroom and then merged 3 images using Photomatix, increased the blue and green saturation levels in Lightroom and added a bit of contrast. This is the result! According to tradition, Sestri Levante was founded by the Ligurian tribe of the “Tigullii” and it was already known in the Roman Age under the name “Segesta Tigulliorum”. The ancient core of the town developed in the Middle Ages in a fortified position on the “island”. After the 15th century, the town expanded onto the alluvial plain south of the Gromolo river. Sestri Levante then became part of the Fieschi family’s domain, until it passed under the flags of the Republic of Genoa, which built the castle on the “island” and kept control of the town until the Napoleonic conquest.

This shot was so cool… cause the capt let me shoot while the boat was nearly on it side like a catamaran.. it was so compelling to be almost thrown over.. I kid you not.. the best for me is the mystery.. / will I survive.. ??? Camera stratagy.. I had a plan to toss it to someone as I may have slipped in.. tee hee.. all kinds of adrenalin .. goings on.. / Hope he likes it.. this and the a few other close ups of crew.. I am so happy with. Plants screaming.. water me.. much to do. But last night..hummm in a land land far away.. I went ship building / . / I found a bay that is full of life / hinting at growth / I found a dock that houses a boat my size / (omg.. fantazimal dimensions) / it’s called a slip / and that’s just what I did / slipped right in, / and so the contract said / expansion expected / nothing stays the same / get ready to move round the bay / seaworthy you will become / besides movement is / good for the hull / holding my heart / and my lungs / where I breath in deep / and smell salt scents / I lick those whenever possible. / However… / I am still trying to pack light / as I would like racing as an option / just in case / passion expands too / then I shall head for the sea / and allow my sails to set a course once again into the unknown. Corio Bay in Geelong really turned it on this morning. I saw this from my window and jumped in the car immediately. Unfortunately, in the 5 minutes it took to get there, the beautiful pinks were gone but still quite spectacular. / Image as shot – no adjustments. / Nikon D700 with 24-70 mm lens
