The latest theory is that Stonehenge was a place of healing. / Whatever it’s purposes, to me the henge is a remarkable monument to the dogged determination of our ancestors. I did a written piece on Stonehenge & Avebury titles “Standing Stones of Wiltshire” and was blown away by the distances the stones were hauled. “Staggering” is the term that comes to mind – pun fully intended.

Inspiration for this image and a planned set of similar shots is the native rock art and cave paintings found in Africa, particularly art produced by the Khoe-San / in their traditional settings.

Druid Tree
by GlennBTo Richard St. Barbe Baker who did so much for us through his reforestation efforts. He began the organisation “The Men of the Trees” in 1922 while working with the Kikuyu in Kenya. Estimates put the numbers of trees planted directly or indirectly throught the efforts of this organisation at something like 20 Trillion!! The Men of the Trees is now known as the International Tree Foundation. Thank you Richard St. Barbe Baker.
