This is a quote made by the Joker in the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight. I believe the entire sequence goes like this: Joker: How about a magic trick? / [He twists a pencil into the table] Joker: I’m going to make this pencil disappear. [Gambol’s henchman tries to attack him; He then slams the man’s head into it the pencil. The man falls over dead.] Joker: Taa-daa!

The next addition to my Creepy Lil Kidz series ~ Lil Joker / and yes … it’s supposed to be crooked ;) A great scene from the movie ( and by the way , an AWESOME movie ! / “Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was….a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn’t like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. Turns to me and he says “Why so serious?” Comes at me with the knife,”Why so serious?” He sticks the blade in my mouth. “Lets put a smile on that face!” And….. Why so serious? “ Detail /

Get ready for the new Watchmen movie! “Watchmen” is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the “Doomsday Clock” – which charts the USA’s tension with the Soviet Union – is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion – a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers – Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity… but who is watching the Watchmen?” Find out on 03.06.09

So I know there’s gotta be other people out there excited about the release of the new Batman Movie The Dark Knight, or is it just me? This is a tribute to possibly one of my favourite movies! This is also one of my first really serious attempts at creating some digital artwork in Photoshop. This is the result of me having a lot of time, sitting at home sick when I should be at work. The question is can you see Batman?? For this I started off with one of my pics of Melbourne, Australia from Southbank which was a HDR from 3 exposures. I then added in bats, flood lights, batman, the moon etc. and then once again a lot of tinkering in Lightroom to finetune :) Click here for my other images of Melbourne

view larger! please note, this painting is made entirely out of respect for the late actor. I painted this out of honour, I think this image is incredibly iconic and wanted to encapsulate that, despite his sad and untimely death, Heath Ledger will go on to become an icon and I hope you understand this image is entirely in good will. not for sale cos of the copyright which I completely understand, merely here to say ‘look! isnt it cool?’ :)
