WC or Wc commonly refers to a Water Closet (aka a flush toilet). Urination, also known as micturition, voiding, and, more rarely, emiction, is the process of disposing urine from the urinary bladder through the urethra to the outside of the body. In healthy adults, the process of urination is under voluntary control; in infants and individuals with neurological injury, urination may occur as an involuntary reflex. A toilet, lavatory, water closet (WC), or loo is a plumbing fixture and disposal system primarily intended for the disposal of the bodily wastes: urine and fecal matter. The word toilet can be used to refer to the fixture itself or to the room containing the fixture, especially in British English.

Bathing is the immersion of the body in a fluid, usually water or an aqueous solution. Some spa facilities provide bathing in various other liquids such as chocolate or mud. There have been examples of bathing in champagne, baked beans and all manner of other substances. A bath or tub is a plumbing fixture used for bathing. Most modern bathtubs are made of acrylic or fiberglass, but alternatives are available in enamel over steel or cast iron, and occasionally wood. A bathtub is usually placed in a bathroom either as a stand-alone fixture or in conjunction with a shower. / Modern bathtubs have overflow and waste drains and may have taps mounted on them. They may be built-in or free standing or sometimes sunken. Until recently, most bathtubs were roughly rectangular in shape but with the advent of acrylic thermoformed baths, more shapes are becoming available. Bathtubs are commonly white in color although many other colors can be found. The process for enamelling cast iron bathtubs was invented by the Scottish born American David Dunbar Buick. Two main styles of bathtub are common: Western-style bathtubs in which the bather lies down. These baths are typically shallow and long. Eastern style bathtubs in which the bather sits up. These are known as ofuro in Japan and are typically short and deep. Bathing usually involves the removal of at least some clothing; normally in private baths all clothing is removed. The amount of clothing removed depends on circumstance, custom, and willingness of bathers to reveal themselves. A swimsuit, swimming costume, or bathing suit is a garment designed for swimming or bathing.

A urinal is any specialized toilet or container designed for urinating, generally by men and boys. In young boys, one of the most common causes of genital injury is when the toilet seat falls down while using the toilet. Injuries to adults include bruised buttocks, tail bones, and dislocated hips from unsuspectingly sitting on the toilet bowl rim due to failure to ensure that the toilet seat was down. Other injuries can be caused by the feet slipping or the toilet bowl collapsing under the weight of the occupant. Pinch injuries can also occur due to splits in plastic seats, and to the various parts of a seat in different configurations. Older high flush cast iron cisterns have been known to detach from the wall when flushed causing injuries to the user. Injuries are frequently sustained by people standing on toilet seats to reach a height. There are also instances of people slipping on a wet bathroom floor, or from a bath and concussing themselves on the fitment. (wikipedia.org)

This was a lot more cheery and colorful before uploading it onto RedBubble. (i’m not sure why the colors are sooo off over there!) The inspiration behind this new series (as if I needed another one, I know, I can’t help it!) is the tub, toilet, and sink in my new house. This house was built in the 50’s and let me tell you, it shows. My bathroom pieces are this funky robin’s egg blue….way retro. Anyways, I was trying to think of a creative way to keep the funky blue stuff but somehow decorate around it so…I’ve been dooding a series of my family in different bathroom scenes (sorry y’all, no real nudity!) with the colors of my bathroom. There you have it…my inspiration. In the print that I am going to buy of this one, the bathtub is a cheery yellow and the bubbles and parts of the shower curtain are that retro blue…as if you cared to know that! :D
