From my most recent exhibition – View3- (November 2007) held with two mates. They are painters and we revisited the beaches we surfed at in the 70’s and 80’s. / My contribution was titled: Segments – details of the Australian Shoreline

I was on assignment shooting a book cover and was concentrating on the talent and capturing the rising sun at just the right moment. / From behind me I could hear lots of splashing, laughter and the cheeky, good natured demands to “take our picture”. / I quickly turned to see what the fuss was about and discovered The Dawn Patrol. After a couple of quick frames I continued on with the shoot and these four wonderful women continued with their swim.

I was commissioned to photography at the baths for Sophia, a lady who I work for to give to her husband. This part of the Newcastle Ocean baths have special meaning for her and her partner so I hope I managed to re-create it for her.

Today, the bluebirds came to the birdbath for a splash. They saw me nearby, but I think they’re used to me now and were so eager for a cooling bath, they got closer than they’ve ever gotten to me before. Here’s Father Bluebird as he anticipates the plunge.
