Adding a slide show to redbubble Ok not really a slide show but it is very close, It’s an animated gif image. / You can see one My Bubblesite These images can also be linked / Doing this will require you to have software that can make an animated gif image. / And of coarse I know of a free software program that can be used and this tutorial will explain how to do this using this free software. The free software is called / unfreeze and you can Get it here / Once downloaded and installed on your / computer we are ready to go. The first step is to get the images you want to include in your slide show, I am going to use my redbubble images set in frames for my bubblesite homepage. Sign-in to your redbubble account Click “My Bubble” then “Art” find the image you want to include and click the “show public view” Now click the “buy/preview” button / Select the product format you want to use Card, Laminated print, etc.. Then save the image to your computer. Internet Explorer users “Right Click” the image and select “Save Picture As” / Firefox users “Right Click” and select “Save image as” / And choose a location on your PC where you can find it easily. / You can use as many images as you want, but remember you want them to visit your gallery so keep the number of images to a minimum. / I’m going to use 8 images for now. / You can re size your images if you like the Unfreeze software will resize your images to fit in a 375 pixels(high) X 360 pixels(wide) box but the software will not center the image. For those that want their images centered in the box, Use your photo software to edit the images / The software program (unfreeze) that I recommended above requires the images to be in gif format. Doing this in your photo software may be different than mine. But I will open the image in my photo software “Paint.net” and then click the “Save as” option and change the format (type) to gif ( Graphics Interchange Format). They will be saved in the same folder that I put the ones I downloaded from the bubble. Once the images are in the gif format. We are ready to create the animated gif (slideshow) Open the folder where your gif images are located Start “unfreeze” a small window will appear / Drag your images into the white window Then set the delay on the right, I used 60, Make sure the “Loop animation” box is checked Now click the “Make Animated Gif” button Give it a name and Click “Save” To make the images change slower add more than one of the same file The image that I created here was made using three copies of the same image, delay set to 90 / Example: drag and drop “image1.gif”,then do it again drag and drop “image1.gif “ This one has four of the same images and delay set to 60 Now the image can be uploaded to a web site, since Redbubble does not support this file type. You can use Dropbox which is a free file store, share, sync software Get it Here it allows you to have 2 gig of file storage for free. Plus when I change the slide show gif I just created dropbox will take care of the rest. / So changing my slide show is as easy as making a new one and saving it using the same location and name on my pc as the one I’m using now. / Now Insert the new image on your bubblesite or profile / Use the image location (web address, web url) with a ! before and after the image location / For more on Linking images etc. see this post How to Customize Redbubble / And your done. / You can also include these in your description boxes these have been reduced in size A great way to promote your calendars on your bubblesite remember these images can be linked to the buy page. / Happy Bubbling / Dan / Get the Firefox and Internet Explorer Tool bar for Redbubble Here / See more info See all my How-to’s Here Includes “Framed image on Bubblesite home page”, “Adding Calendars to your bubblesite”, “feedjit Live Traffic Feed”, “Using tags on Redbubble”, “Add a visitor counter to your bubblesite or profile page” and More © D R Moore This written work cannot be reproduced or posted on the web without my written permission

There are many reasons for using tags 1. Creating links to make it easier for your visitors to find what they want / 2. Knowing what images are in what group / 3. Help your visitors find what they want faster. NOTE: It may take 20-30 minutes before you will be able to use your new tags in the search boxes. / For keeping track of what images are in what group, I’ve found that the easiest way to do this is by Tagging the image with the group name. Then making a bookmark for easy access to Group lists, This method will also show new images as long as you add the tag when you enter the image to a group. / To add tags to images Click your “art” button or Here , Then next to the image click “edit”, The tag box is below the Description box. / Tag Example: All images that I’ve submitted to the Group “Animal Kingdom” , I’ve added the following tag “animal kingdom” remember to separate the tags with a comma ( , ) / Search Example:The following will work for all users as long as you put your username, and tag in the places indicated in bold below / http://www.redbubble.com/people/yourusername/art/everything/tags/tagname / Once you get the results Bookmark it, Now the next time you try to remember what images you have in a group or have I reached the group limit you can click the bookmark and see what images are in that group and how many. / Bonus: Using the links from above to organize your images for visitors, Link an Image or text with the Links you created above. / You can see some of your links using tags by clicking your username in the top right hand side of any redbubble page (this takes you to your public profile page) / then click Art, Calendar, or T-Shirts then on the next page on the left there are text links with the tags that you have added to your work. / ( if your not sure how to do this See this post Creating Links Etc…on redbubble ) EXAMPLES: / Linked text "Birds":http://www.redbubble.com/people/yourusername/art/everything/tags/tagname / Birds / Linked image / !www.imageishere.jpg!:http://www.redbubble.com/people/yourusername/art/everything/tags/tagname / You can click the link below, It will open in redbubble it won’t give you any results but then you can then change the username in the address bar click “go” or just hit enter bookmark the result or add it to your “favorites” for future tag making . / http://www.redbubble.com/people/yourusername/art/everything/tags/tagname BONUS TIP: / Searching your tags using the search box on the 2009 Gift Guide (see image below) will result in a page of Framed Prints, T- Shirts, Calendars or Canvas Print previews of just your images…..but you will need to tag the works you want to appear with your username. / Then you will be able to customize the results a little better to show only your works…. / / Examples: from my profile…Place your mouse pointer over the link but do not click it to see what tags I used to create these links notice that my username(envelope150) is in all of them. / all my images in the framed product version / Just my Flower images in the framed product version / Only my owl images are here / To use these images on your profile or in your descriptions check out this TUTORIAL:Using Small Product Preview II How to tag your journals / writings The above method does not work for my journls or writings / Example:I have a few How-to’s in the How to Redbubble group and I’ve tagged them with”htrb” So if i create a tag like above it would be / http://www.redbubble.com/people/envelope150/art/everything/tags/htrb / unfortunately the results give me a blank page (click the link above if you don’t believe me) / Here is how we can get the results we need (want). / See Here http://www.redbubble.com/search/envelope150%20htrb/journals / If you have a lot of writings it might be a good idea to tag these for many reasons. 1. Keeping track of what groups they are in / 2. Easy reference for other bubble members / 3. sorting by topic / 4. and many more…. I will try and explain the easiest way to do this and hopefully make it as painless as possible. / I will explain how I created the above results for my How to journals / Fist and most important tag all your work with your username / Step 1. Tag the journal I’m using “htrb” / Step2. Make a link to the list of journals with this tag / To do this we will need to use the search box / Enter your username and tag “click Search” I’m going to enter envelope150 htrb / Step 4. When you get to the results page copy the address from the address bar or bookmark it. / If your tags are fresh give it a little time for redbubble servers to catch up(up to 10-min) / Now you can use the address to make links to your journals for easy reference or group tracking. / I high lighted my username and tag below in bold, When copying the results you will have the %20 where the space is suppose to be. http://www.redbubble.com/search/envelope150%20htrb/ Click Here to see the results if you like Using the method above to create links for your images adds the ability to use more than one tag / Example: If I want to make a link to my osprey(bird) images I would use the search box and enter envelope150 bird osprey click “search” and I get this / http://www.redbubble.com/search/envelope150%20birds%20osprey only my images that include the 3 tags will show up / This method would be good for the Flower Lovers to separate their Flowers images not only by type of flower but color as well. Using tags like username flowers roses red and then searching those tags to make a link to their “My Red Roses Collection”. / Hope this tutorial helps in getting you started in fully customizing or just organizing your bubble profile. Bonus Tip To make a text box appear when someone hovers over a link add text in (these) like below "Landscapes(View my Landscape Collection)":http://www.redbubble.com/people/yourusername/art/everything/tags/tagname / See how it works below just place your mouse pointer on the link but do not click it / Landscapes / Happy Bubbling / Dan / Get the Firefox and Internet Explorer Tool bar for Redbubble Here / See more info See all my How-to’s Here Includes “Framed image on Bubblesite home page”, “Adding Calendars to your bubblesite”, “feedjit Live Traffic Feed”, “Using tags on Redbubble”, “Add a visitor counter to your bubblesite or profile page” and More © D R Moore This written work cannot be reproduced or posted on the web without my written permission

When learning to draw figures and things in an institution, through a book or tutoring, we come by the theory that once you learn to draw circles, triangles and squares, that you can draw anything because everything is made up of these three shapes. When I started my major project for the year, this came to mind when I tried to think of a project to begin. I wanted to take something simple, play with it’s concept and make a series. SO, here is a series of 3 drawings on canvases which are still a little under construction. Each figure is in a pose that when a drawing of which begins, an artist would most likely begin with drawing the shape! then each body part is made up of the three shapes, then the lights and darks and blending. All the things I love. / For each drawing, I used a reference photograph taken by Gillian Berry for this project :D thank you so much for the assistance Red! / chalk, charcoal and texture pain on square canvases. (not sure about the size atm. will get that tomorrow for you all) AND keep an eye on this space, these will be finished soon ready for critique in a few days.

This how-to will briefly explain a method of using tables on redbubble to Create sets, Text aligning, Text wrapping in Descriptions,Journals and profiles. There must be 2 blank lines between the table and other text (Press Enter two times before and after the table) To make a table insert a “|” (vertical bar) between the items to be contained in the cells. / The Examples provided below in BOLD can be copied and pasted. Then just replace the text with your links, images, text or whatever you wish. / For the basic text wrapped image use. / |text|image| / To put the title above the image use below / In order to keep a blank cell I will use Text wrap an image | |Title w/ link| / |Description|Image w/ link| Preview Click Image to Preview it on my Bubblesite The Cattle Egrets is a popular bird with cattle ranchers for its perceived role as a bio control of cattle parasites such as ticks and flies. They can fly backwards, and are the only group of birds able to do so. Their English name derives from the characteristic hum made by their wings.Which they can do up to 53 times a second. The extremely short legs of the Ruby-throated Hummingbird prevent it from walking or hopping. The best it can do is shuffle along a perch. To scratch its head and neck it raises its foot up and over its wing. All profits from purchasing this work will be donated to the Wildlife victims of the Victorian bush fires. Looking at this pile of wood, I saw two pieces that reminded me of two people gently touching each other’s hands. Touch is an important part of our lives, especially living in a fast paced society that too often values money, power and control over the simple act of touch and intimate contact. Animals primarily relate to each other through physical play that satisfies the basic need we all have to be touched, especially by a loved one. Since, we can’t talk to our dogs or cats, our feelings are communicated through touch giving us a sense of comfort and unconditional love. Molly demands her belly rub as if she is entitled to at least one a day. She sleeps in a position upside down next to my hands. When I wake up, my hand often is on her belly. Like parenting humans, some dogs need more touch than others and as parents we experience the different needs of each child. Hopefully we recognize their different needs without feeling guilty that you don’t relate to both children in the same way. The quality of what you give them, especially love and security is what is important. Human touch is essential to a thriving baby. After World War II, orphaned babies were placed in large warehouses where their basic needs were met. They were fed and bathed, but never touched or picked up to receive nurturing and “the human touch” while the wolrd just slipped away. The term anaclitic depression refers to the deep sorrow of infants that never felt the loving hands of their parents or caregiver. I remember when I was teaching in the Masters Program in college, I showed a film of these “warehouse” babies. It was a shocking sight and although they were maintained, many of thousands of infants died without physical touch. Sadly, it is not WWII, but more senseless wars leave children homeless and starving after their parents have died of Aids, starvation and numerous other fatal diseases. I recommended seeing Daniel Irwin’s photographs on rb that reflect this global crisis. Please view this in the large format. You and me we were the pretenders / And a little of that human touch / Just a little of that human touch Ain’t no mercy on the streets of this town / Ain’t no bread from heavenly skies / Ain’t nobody drawin’ wine from this blood / We let it all slip away / In the end what don’t surrender / Well the world just strips away Girl ain’t no kindness in the face of strangers / Ain’t gonna find no miracles here / Well you can wait on your blessings my darlin’ / But I got a deal for you right here I ain’t lookin’ for prayers or pity / I ain’t comin’ ‘round searchin’ for a crutch / I just want someone to talk to / It’s just you and me tonight Tell me in a world without pity / Do you think what I’m askin’s too much ? / I just want something to hold on to / And a little of that human touch / Just a little of that human touch Oh girl that feeling of safety you prize / Well it comes with a hard hard price / You can’t shut off the risk and the pain / Without losin’ the love that remains / We’re all riders on this train So you been broken and you been hurt / Show me somebody who ain’t / Yeah I know I ain’t nobody’s bargain / But hell a little touchup / And a litte paint… You might need somethin’ to hold on to / When all the answers they don’t amount to much / Somebody that you can just talk to / And a little of that human touch Baby in a world without pity / Do you think what I’m askin’s too much ? / I just want to feel you in my arms / And share a little of that human touch. Basic Art Therapy Concepts Lots of people ask me about how I use art therapy with my counseling clients and have expressed a desire to be able to help others heal through the artistic process. Many of us have experienced healing through our own art so it only makes sense we want to help others do the same thing. We know the power art has on our heart, soul, mind and spirit. I am just going to share some basic concepts I have learned and give you some great resources. I have found adolescents especially are open to artistic forms of expression, probably because they don’t have the years of inhibition and brainwashing about what is art and who can create it. They are more open to experiment and play with mediums and materials, especially when told what they create are not meant to hang on a museum wall somewhere. Adults who have some artistic background seem to be more open to using art as a means of exploring inner thoughts and feelings. Even if they don’t consider themselves an artist, just having some experience makes it a little less threatening. I have one adult woman client who, when encouraged to draw her inner child, did an amazing pencil sketch and I was shocked at her natural talent because she hadn’t talked about it. She didn’t really understand with her head what I was asking her to do, but her heart obviously did because the result was very powerful, both for her and for me. The biggest hurdle is just getting people started and the way I do this is using exercises in The Art Therapy Sourcebook by Cathi Malchiodi. She is very well known in the field and has a couple of other books out as well. She gives lots of direction on just getting kids and/or adults familiar with materials and then specific exercises you can give using each medium. It is pretty much step by step and has been very helpful for me, and as a new artist it has helped me feel like I don’t have to be an artist “expert” to utilize it with my clients. Let me give you an example. The first thing she has clients do is use pencil to experiment with lines, forms, shapes, shading, thick lines, thin lines and anything the person ends up creating. Clients at first are unsure and feel silly just drawing lines but start to loosen up after doing one or two of these. She will then add color, giving the same directions but using markers. After doing one with marker they are encouraged to do one with only their favorite colors and then their least liked colors. The goal is to get people experiencing different mediums with no expectation and just fun. It is amazing what clients have drawn during these simple exercises; not so much masterpieces, but how much it relates emotionally to what they are going through. Each piece must be signed, given a title and dated. Often the title itself is what is most revealing at this point, even if the drawing does not appear to be visibly tied to their thoughts and emotions. The wonderful thing about dating a piece is over time you can go back and revisit a piece, look for progress or add something to it at a later time. I have had clients say they want to add something to a piece they did weeks before and this is also an important part of the process. Also when they finish with therapy they have a timeline of sorts that depicts their process; a journal of images and symbols instead of just words. I ask clients to purchase a sketchbook and sketch throughout the week in between sessions. This is a good way for them to practice seeing more through imagery and getting comfortable with playing with images and symbols. They can also use it as a writing journal if they want and mix their sketches with writing. It is theirs to do with totally as they desire with no direction from me. Anything they want me to see they bring in and show me, other things they keep to themselves. Once they have worked with pencil, marker, pastel, watercolor crayon, and oil pastel then you move on to more fluid mediums like watercolor and poster paints. Most art therapists use these because they aren’t as pricey as acrylics, oils, etc. You want to see what mediums each person is most drawn to and this gives you good information for future work. As a general rule; for someone who lives more on the emotional end of the continuum, pastels, colored pencil, oil pastels can be best because it helps bring some containment to their emotions. For someone who has difficulty accessing emotion and lives on the rational side of their brain, the more fluid mediums can be helpful to get things flowing. It may also depend on the mood of the client on any given day. If they are too far into the emotional mind (overflowing with emotion) or rational mind (just reporting with little emotion) and need help with either containment or flow, you use mediums accordingly. This can also be helpful for us as artists when we are working through our own emotions, whether we need containment or more flow and emotional accessibility. Every exercise in this book can benefit us as artists and I have used some of them myself. I do not, however, work alongside a client because they can get too caught up in what I am doing and comparing. I just sit quietly while they work, often I will read something related to art therapy or be thinking about where to go next with that individual. I may ask how they are doing at different intervals and then I ask them to let me know when they feel finished. It can be helpful to play different kinds of music while they are working or playing also. You always save at least ten minutes to process the piece and they get better at this over time. My Healing Through Art Story Sometimes there are just no words to express what we are feeling, at least for a time. That is what I experienced when my dad committed suicide 5 years ago. I had always been a writer and did not believe I had an artistic bone in my body. When he died, it was like all my words went with him. I could not journal or write in any way, shape or form about the experience. For the first time in my life I was deeply and truly silenced. I had to find a way to express what I was feeling and that’s when I decided to take some art lessons. The first year I would call my trauma expression year. I painted abstractly and ended up with pieces that looked like natural disasters; Tsunami 2004, California Fires, Twin Towers and several others. None were directly about my dad’s suicide, but they were all about trauma, those who died and those who survived. I primarily used acrylics because watercolor was just too unpredictable for me. I needed more control and the ability to go back and fix things. If I made a mistake I asked for direction and painted over it. After the first couple years I found an artist named Mary Ann Beckwith and went to one of her workshops. She uses liquid watercolor and yupo and I was hooked. / It is amazing to me that initially, what I didn’t like about watercolor which was the lack of control, is now my favorite part of using watercolor. To me that shows how far I have come. Not that everyone has to like watercolor, it’s just that for me it became a barometer for the flow of my emotions. About a year ago my words came back and I am writing again as well. Every one of you most likely has a Healing Through Art Story; which means you also have something to offer others. I’m not saying you are all going to go out and do art therapy, actually I wouldn’t recommend it without the therapy part of the training. But you could work alongside therapists who want to incorporate art therapy into their work with clients but don’t feel comfortable doing it themselves. You could become part of a team approach to therapy. Inpatient treatment centers for eating disorders, substance abuse, and psychiatric issues use art therapy in conjunction with traditional talk therapy all the time. Why couldn’t you be part of a team in an out-patient setting, like with a therapist who is in private practice? I don’t know, maybe I’m crazy. It would definitely take the right therapist who is open to offering this to their clients, but I think those therapists might be out there somewhere. I am, and if I wasn’t offering it myself, I would love for my clients to have that experience and bring their work in and share it with me. The artwork just becomes part of the therapy process and I, as the therapist, get to benefit from seeing my clients pain and progress through another medium besides words. Sounds like a win-win situation for everyone to me! Those are my thoughts, take what you like and leave the rest as they say. I hope you have enjoyed my little art therapy article and that it answers a few basic questions you might have about it. I was recently asked to explain how I use layers. So while trying to put my thoughts together, I decided I might as well share it with everyone who’s interested. I’ll show how to do very basic adjustments so you get a feel for how layers work. Once you’re comfortable with that you can move on to using layers to create art effects. Please keep in mind that I’m a Photoshop user... I’m in no way an expert! / This is just my way of working with layers. There are many different ways, & they all work. Why use layers ? : / Our reasons for using layers are many & varied. We might be doing vector-like illustrations, Or composing an intricate fantasy photomanipulation. / It may be a simple matter of applying text over an image. / You may just want to do basic tone & colour adjustments of your photographs. / Whatever your reason, using layers is almost essential. / I say this for one very important reason. If you apply adjustments of any type to your original image, you will be altering it permanently. There’s no going back. Pixels get moved around & destroyed, every brush or keystroke seriously alters the quality of your image. / However, working in layers is non-destructive. The original image sits at the bottom of your stack, untouched, unaltered, safe from damage. / All of your edits are stacked on top of the original, & then “flattened”, usually upon completion, or when you’re ready to move on to the next stage of editing. I’ll use this image of a bunch of people looking a Trojan warplane, to demonstrate the basics of using layers. / I’m using PS CS3, & I’m not sure how similar the layout of PS Elements is, so this will either be helpful to you, or just confusing…. it should be fairly similar though. Let’s get started : 1) Open your image in Photoshop, & save it straight away as a psd (Photoshop file format) I’ve decided to call this one “enter the trojan”. / 2) Now have a good look at the image & decide what needs doing. / Does it needs cropping? Some people choose to crop at the start, but for some strange reason I’ll often wait until I’m somewhere through my editing process. I like to wait to see how the image is evolving…. Does anything need cloning out? / This image has a rather annoying person disappearing out of the left side of the frame, so Ill be getting rid of him, as well as cleaning up a few distracting white spots on the airfield in the background. 3) Look to the right of your screen & you’ll see your layers palette. / At the top right of that you’ll see 3 little horizontal lines stacked on top of each other with an arrow next to them. Left click on this & you’ll get a drop-down box. this is your most important box for using layers. Click on duplicate layer, & rename it as you wish. / I’m calling it “clone”. / / You’ll see the duplicate layer appear above the background layer in your layers palette. / / Make sure the clone layer is selected (it’ll be highlighted in grey), & you’re ready to work on that layer. / Now select your clone tool & go to work. All done? If you’re happy with your work make sure you save. Now, remembering what I said about your background (original) layer remaining untouched, here’s a little demo. / Do you see that little eye beside your “clone” layer? / Click on it…. Hello!! Your cloning has gone! Click on it again….. it’s back!!! / OK, we could have fun with this all day, but do you see how the background image is unchanged? Cool huh? Let’s move on…. I’ve got blown out highlights in my clouds which are a problem & the mid-tones are a bit too dark. / I’ll deal with the clouds first by using a curves adjustment layer. 4) All the way down at the bottom of your layers palette, you’ll see a toolbar. look for the circle that’s half black & half white. / This is the “create new fill or adjustment layer” button. / Click on it & select “curves”. / 5) Grab the little white dot on the line in the top right corner. Now drag it a smidgen down to the right. That should take care of the blown out clouds. / Click OK. / / Do you see you now have a curves layer? / (Because I use CS3, it automatically gives me a layer mask box on this layer. It’s that white box in your curves layer. But we’re not going to get into masks today) Now to fix the mid-tones. For this I’m going to add a Levels layer. / 6) Just like in step 4), click on the “create new fill or adjustment layer” button & this time select “Levels”. / 7) This will open a box with a levels histogram in it. / To lighten your mid-tones slide the grey arrow in the middle of the histogram to the left until you’re happy. / Click OK, & you’ll see your levels layer sitting above the curves layer. Now, what if you wanted to do some dodge & burn? / There’s a number of ways to dodge & burn, so I’ll show you one that I use quite often. 8) Remember those 3 little horizontal lines that you clicked on to duplicate the layer? (step 3) / Click on that again, & this time select “New Layer”. / 9) In the dialogue box, change the name to “dodge & burn”, / click on the “mode” dropdown box, & select “overlay”, / then check the box “Fill with overlay-neutral color (50% gray) / it should look something like this : / / Then click OK. You’ll now see a layer called “dodge & burn” in your layers palette. It should be on the top of the pile. If it isn’t, simply drag it to the top. / Any work you do to the top layer will be carried over to all the layers below. 10) Select your burn tool, set your range to Shadows, & Exposure around 20 (this will depend completely upon the type of image you’re working on), then get to work burning out the areas that you feel need deepening. 11) Then take your dodge tool, set your Exposure to around 20 & work over the areas that you think need a little more highlighting. I’ve decided this image needs a bit more saturation. 12) Go back to the black/white circle (as mentioned in step 4), & this time look for Hue/Saturation. / / Adjust your sliders as you see fit, then click OK. / At this stage I’m happy with my basic adjustments. It’s now at the stage where it’s ready for me to use it as a background image for something a little more creative. 13) If you haven’t been saving until now, you really must do it now. 14) Now we’re going to Flatten the file. / Go to those 3 little horizontal lines with the arrow again (step 3), & this time look for “Flatten Image”. / / Click on it. You’ll see that all your layers have been “flattened into just one layer, & it’s now become your new background layer. If you’re planning to print this, you’ll need to give it some sharpening. / There are so many ways to sharpen, but at the moment I’m a bit partial to using the “high pass” filter. 15) To do this you’ll need to use a duplicate layer (remember step 3?) / I’m re-naming it “High Pass Sharpening”. / 16) Go to your “filter” drop down box on your top tool bar, & select, “other”, “high pass”. / 17) Adjust your radius slider until you see a good amount of line detail while keeping the tones in gray. Click OK. / You’re probably wondering what’s happened to your image. We’ll fix that right now. 18) Look above your “high pass” layer, & you’ll see Opacity set at 100%, to the left of that the word “normal” in a drop-down box. / Click on that drop-down box & select “overlay”. / / Presto! You’ve got your image back, & it’s been sharpened. / Toggle the “eye” off & on to see the effect. 19) If it’s too sharpened for your taste, you can adjust the opacity of that layer. / Find the “opacity” slider above the layer, & adjust it as you like. / I’m setting this one to 50%. / 20) Save this as a new psd file ( I’m calling this one “enter the trojan HP sharp”), & flatten it as before. / 21) Now all you need to do is save it in the Format of choice. / I routinely save all my images as TIFF files, & then save again as JPEG. / Remember to do all you backups now so you don’t forget later. All finished! Now you have an image that is fine as is, or ready for you to get a little creative & do further editing. / The final image : / You might also want to look at Texturing an Image in Photoshop for Absolute Beginners for further editing ideas. This journal contains the second in a series of tutorials I wrote the last time I was on RB. Now that I am back I figured it only fitting that I re submit them as I know a lot of people found them useful in the past and I am all about offering assistance and help to anyone starting out where I can. Each page is A4 size @ 100 dpi for easy printing. There are five pages in all. Just click on the image to download each page as a .jpg file. Note that this tutorial is for private use only and copyright protection is in force. If you would like to upload it to your blog, please bmail me first for permission, do not just assume you have it. Thanks very much, I hope you find it useful, Simone :) Disclaimer Please bare in mind this tutorial was written for those who have very little experience with, or knowledge of Photoshop. It is in no way a definitive guide to using photoshop, it is however a great starting point for those who are just beginning and feel overwhelmed with the complexities of more advanced tutorials. It is also NOT a substitute for good sound photography skills. It will not magically turn a poorly taken image into a spectacular one, only time, experience, patience and practice with your camera will do that.
