HMS Warrior is a nineteenth century ironclad. She’s a beautiful vessel moored permanently within the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth. I pass her every day on the way into work and she never fails to give me a little lift. When I was coming home and the sunset was looking so gorgeous, I couldn’t resist missing my ferry home for this shot!
For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…

Last night I went to the Airpower Over Hampton Roads Airshow. I stopped near a parking lot at the end of the runway, and was treated to the return of four F-15E Strike Eagle pilots. As they walked towards us, they asked us how they looked and if their 4 ship formation was nice and tight. They then joked that this pictured pilot here, was probably way off the mark, I even commented that I didn’t get his plane in even with THAT lens. It was fun to see the human aspect of an airshow, and having a laugh with these hometown heros. I can’t believe how young these “kids” looked.
09:37 Sunday morning. The static display of the F-22 Raptor is just screaming to be photographed. Decided to break a few rules here and only took a shot of the F-22’s office. What an incredible plane! The flight demo later on was just stunning as usual. Taken at the 2009 Airpower Over Hampton Roads Airshow at Langley Air Force Base, VA. I just love the lighting in this shot.

Rust piling up against the base of the bridge used for commuters to cross the Murray River.
I wanted you to see the Base of the Elephant tree. You can have no conception of how huge it is from this picture, but if I tell you both myself and my friend can sit comfortably on one of the knobby bits at the bottom it give you some idea. It is a fantastic tree for meditating under and if you look up it goes on for ever. I love trees and I think this is my very favourite.

Taboche Peak 6367m rises majestically from the floor of the valley of the Lobuche Khola River in the Nepalese Himalayas. To the right is Cholatse with her 6335m peak just in the clouds. At the foot of the valley above the village of Pheriche rises the twin peaks of Kangtega 6685m with Thamserku 6608m to her right. The fresh snow fell deep in the valley the night before. These mountains are some of the world’s most famous and the Sagarmatha National Park is their home.
This was the culmination of my trek in 07. Having succumbed to one of the worst headaches ever on my previous day’s attempt at climbing Kala Pathar, I had the choice of going to base camp or climbing Kala Pathar 5550m. Naturally I chose the highest point and also one of the best views from which to ogle at the beauty of Mt Everest. These are three images merged in Photoshop. From the top of Kalar Pathar, the towering face of Pumo Ri 7165m is the closest peak on the left. Across the valley is Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse and then in all her might and glory, Mt Everest aka Chomolungma 8850m and her sister Nuptse 7861m. (Naturally Nuptse looks taller because she is closer) The Khumbu Glacier falls down the Western Cwm and is joined further down the valley by the Changri Shar and Changri Nup Glaciers on the right of the photo. Everest base camp is just above the point on the black ridge behind the glacial lake.

I decided to try to create art to go with a poem I wrote and add some of the words in the art. below is the poem used in the art. Hope you like it! this was a fun project but hard for me because i am working on a new style. the font was chosen for the over all look of the words, it isn’t met to read, but as art. This image was also inspired by a favorite artist of mine. Skin so Soft Skin so soft , hair flows freely. Hard ropy muscle that ripple from left to right when the body is in motion. Harsh, brash and crude, heart of gold allowing love as sweet as nectar to flow as freely as the blood spilled in battle. Not one external scar, not one imperfection, simply…flawless. But inside, scars run a muck like army ants pouncing on freshly fallen death ripping away at it with their sharp mandibles. Yet, the spirit never wavers to the hate that could be nourished. Self sacrifice, a choice made that sprang from the birth of a heart, not a burden of labored responsibility. Skin so soft, made to hold the one loved. Ropy muscle, brute strength, made to protect the weak. Harsh , brash, crude…created to protect… Skin so Soft. / / Freedome in Words and ART / Copyright / These Images and Writings Do Not Belong To ANY Public Domain. You know that satisfying feeling you get when you feel that you just “nailed” the shot? I’m really happy with my Shutterspeed selection to capture the prop swirl on this P-51D Mustang called “Bald Eagle”.
