This is the old Westvale Barn… it was built over 100 years ago and was in use until only a few years past. Now it is scheduled for the wrecking ball. / / Canon 400d /
My grandparents’ old farm is full of old buildings like this dark red barn. The stacks of wood you see are cut from nearby forest, awaiting planing into lumber to be used in new homes. I played around with this until it had something of an antique look to it. Thoughts on this process are welcome!
I came across this building on my run about in the snow storm. I thought of doing it in B&W or even Sepia.. But alas I liked the colors that showed.. These small sheds and barns were built to last. Some made of ash tree’s. It looks as if its being kept in repair and still an older look.. With the falling snow and overcast sky it made my choice.. hope you agree..
Abstract sun shape on old barn in Johnson City, Texas.
I took a shot of this old barn on my way home from a day of fantastic picture taking. The ladder leaning against the barn really caught my eye. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography
Old dilapidated barn with rustic red doors. This old barn will be torn down sometime this month. Someone in the neighborhood complained that it was an “eye sore”.... so sad! Image was redone for me in HDR by Kimberly Palmer.
Well this is one of those occasions when I turned to the husband and said: “Stop, stop the car, I saw something back there I need to shoot!” / I just couldn’t pass up trying to capture this old barn on the way out the beach this morning. Found this barn along the Oka Rd in Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac, Quebec CANADA, July 2008 just about 5 minutes from home. “I don’t ask for the meaning of the song of a bird or the rising of the sun on a misty morning. There they are, and they are beautiful.”~ Pete Hamill Taken in the late summer in the early morning in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia. If your wondering what that is in the road, it’s my dog, Jakers (a Foxhound mix) who was taking a snooze and refused to move for the shot. smiles Often times in these mountains the only sun you will see rising is what is trying to burn through the heavy mist… Top Ten Challenges: / BARNS & Old Grist Mills and Covered Bridges from around the World!-Winner of the ‘09 Nov., A BARN & LANDSCAPE scene Challenge Best from Around the Barnyard- ‘09 November Avatar Challenge Featured in: / Dilapidated Buildings / Playful Photogenic Animals-Nov 09
