This is a picture of my barn. It was late winter of 2006. The window that is covered by snow, is about 4 feet off the ground. Snow falling in icy crystals / winds roaring pushing snow dunes / swirling vortexes of wonder land delight / on the day of no sun everlasting / pushing on as minutes pass / swirling snow builds on icy glass written by my daughter Tiffany
I really enjoy the old barns, and I really liked the look of this one covered in a blanket of snow…. Home On The Range. /
A red barn alone in a field on a cold winter’s day.
Barn door left open . Empty as it is. Snow falling in force. Silo empty and cold. Solid whites and earth tones. I wanted this view to come out a bit different. I wondered if I should add this capture which includes the building. But after removing the noise and looking at it up close.. I like the candy cane focus.. I call it that because it almost seems like you are watching the trees melt and the Silo ghost away.. Weird but I love it.. Take your time and view large and close if you can.. Off to the pub while this uploads.. Brunch in this part of the world.. / This was taken just west of Allegan, Michigan USA /
another old barn… / this one from a hillside in tennesee, infrared

Featured in Rural Around The Globe January 6, 2009. I’ve stopped and snapped this wonderful barn, located near Everett along route 30 in Pennsylvania, more than once. Still haven’t quite captured its essence … but I’m working on it!! This image was taken on Saturday, Janury 3, 2009, with the Nikon D40x using the Nikkor 18-200mm lens with the cp filter. It has been put thru HDR with PhotoMatix, then tinkered around with a bit in PhotoShop. Obsidian Dawn
This was taken at my old house, which was located on about 100 acres, and it also had a 2 km long driveway, not a lie. I was walking down it to get the mail and decided to take a shot looking back towards the barn and house. I tried a new effect on it and would love to know what you think. Thanks so much for looking and commenting. =)smile
Taken in Berkshire, Vermont Jan. 29, 2009 with canon 40D using 70-300 lens and edited using HDR.
the patches of walls and barns, creating a abstract pattern of shapes and forms in the winter snow. Shot in Swaledale in the North Yorkshire dales
A collection of some old / some new textured country-life scenics. Textures thanks to Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art, Ghostbones on Flickr and Obsidian Dawn.
Went out looking for color on a cold winter day, and the hay in front of this barn was the best I could do.
I love barns and, sadly, they are disappearing from the landscape, being plowed under for developments and such. This silhouette seemed to capture the beauty of the structure against the sunset and stark trees. Several layers of texture were used to age the vignette.
One of the many beautiful sights we saw on the way to the Conowingo Dam ~ A beautiful wintry view of a Lancaster County Farm – taken right off Route 222 about 12 miles from the Pennsylvania/Maryland state line. Natural color and light.
