I finally found the tractor I have been looking for. I saw this old antique from the road and thankfully had my camera in tow. I braved the 3 feet of snow and frigid Newfoundland winds but I finally got my shot I’d been waiting to get. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /
I came across this building on my run about in the snow storm. I thought of doing it in B&W or even Sepia.. But alas I liked the colors that showed.. These small sheds and barns were built to last. Some made of ash tree’s. It looks as if its being kept in repair and still an older look.. With the falling snow and overcast sky it made my choice.. hope you agree..
Rancher checking horses in the barn before retiring for the night. / / Note: All my digital art work is executed entirely with my mouse and Photoshop Elements’ brushes. It takes hours of concentration, patience and self control. Especially when the mouse wants to go right and you need it to go left! When this happens , I reluctantly leave my office and go for a stroll in my garden. / That usually takes care of the problem and then, I get back to work :) /

Old barn with a new look. A BIG Thank-You goes to Kimberly Palmer for giving this old barn a new look. The county wants to tear this barn down. They claim it is an eye-sore… so sad. It has so much character!

Sweet, Sweet Surrender “Lost and alone on some forgotten highway / Travelled by many remembered by few / Lookin’ for something that I can believe in / Lookin’ for something that I’d like to do with my life There’s nothin’ behind me and nothin’ that ties me / To somethin’ that might have been true yesterday / Tomorrow is open and right now it seems to be more / Than enough to just be there today And I don’t know what the future is holdin’ in store / I don’t know where I’m goin’, I’m not sure where i’ve been / There’s a spirit that guides me, a light that shines for me / My life is worth the livin’, don’t need to see the end Sweet, sweet surrender / Live, live without care / Like a fish in the water / Like a bird in the air” John Denver Sweet Surrender Driving through the countryside Saturday, January 3rd, I deliberately took a wrong turn and passed by this beautiful farm. Although many think this is a black and white image with selective color, it is actually a color image taken on a stark, wintry day in northern Vermont If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me.” – song title by Jimmy Buffett Here are a couple more of my favorite quotes: I don’t answer the phone. Taken in the town of North Orwell, PA on 01/19/2009 along route 187. A Canon 50D camera edited in PS and HDR. Lastly, I did the Orton layer. It’s no longer used for farming. Hopefully it won’t end up totally neglected.
Featured in Colour Me Vibrant Red! February 14, 2009. / Featured in Rural Around the Globe February 9, 2009. Found this little sweetie in the vicinity of Sproul, Pennsylvania. Everything in this immediate area was as neat as a pin, as my Daddy used to say. Image taken December 28, 2008 with the Nikon D40x, using the 18-200mm VR Nikon lens and the cp filter. I played with this one a bit in Photoshop … the sky was a boring white, so I had fun giving it a nice chilly winter gray and adding some clouds with brushes from Obsidian Dawn then putting the whole thing through Photomatix’s HDR process.
