Old dilapidated barn with rustic red doors. This old barn will be torn down sometime this month. Someone in the neighborhood complained that it was an “eye sore”.... so sad! Image was redone for me in HDR by Kimberly Palmer.

Well this is one of those occasions when I turned to the husband and said: “Stop, stop the car, I saw something back there I need to shoot!” / I just couldn’t pass up trying to capture this old barn on the way out the beach this morning. Found this barn along the Oka Rd in Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac, Quebec CANADA, July 2008 just about 5 minutes from home. TODAY IT IS A “LIVING MUSEUM” WHERE VISITORS CAN LEARN ABOUT FRONTIER LIFE IN OHIO. MANY BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO HALE’S FARMHOUSE AND RESTORED TO FORM THE VILLAGE AND PROVIDE A FASCINATING LOOK AT LIFE IN A RELATIVELY UNSETTLED AREA THAT HAD ONLY RECENTLY ATTAINED STATEHOOD. It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. Another capture of a lovely old barn not from from my home in Montgomery County, Maryland. We’ve had another remarkably wet summer … we don’t often see greens like this in July and August!!! Hand held mage taken in the early evening of July 9, 2009 with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter 1/250, aperture f/8.0, exp .33, iso 500. Two duplicates created in Photoshop to +1/-3 then processed in Photomatix to create this hdr image. A little tweaking in Painter for blending. Levels, dodging and burning in Photoshop.
