Old barn with a new look. A BIG Thank-You goes to Kimberly Palmer for giving this old barn a new look. The county wants to tear this barn down. They claim it is an eye-sore… so sad. It has so much character!
This image was taken late afternoon in the loft of our barn (badly in need of a new roof). At first I was captivated by the points of light in the semi-dark loft and tried capturing them. Then I thought to myself how much more interesting they would be if you could see the light in its path from the roof to the spot of light on the floor so I began to move the loose hay on the floor from one side of the barn to the other. (I am terribly allergic to hay.) The dust worked its magic and created a spectacular light show. Several hours later my lungs are still agonizing over the assault! / Shown here with off white mat in mocha flat frame. /
Old dilapidated barn with rustic red doors. This old barn will be torn down sometime this month. Someone in the neighborhood complained that it was an “eye sore”.... so sad! Image was redone for me in HDR by Kimberly Palmer.

An ice blue moon / Falls from the sky / Soon to commune / With mountains high / / Sun rises now / Moon to replace / As if somehow / They won’t share space / / Old weathered barn / Bears witness to / The stellar yarn / Between these two / / This digital painting was inspired while looking out my window at the descending full moon early in the morning. It brought to mind the optical illusion of how the moon always looks bigger when it is low in the sky. I love how the moon takes on the blue hues of the atmosphere when you see it in the early morning light. / /
I found this lovely Autumn farm scene on a dirt road beside the Watauga River near Boone, North Carolina. Farms like these and a simpler way of life would have been very common 50 or more years ago in these mountains but now they are few and far between as this region has become very popular for tourists and summer vacation homes. Taken with Nikon D50.
This was shot in Arlington, WA. One of my favorite pics and the most featured, viewed and favorited of my works here on RedBubble. Thank you! / Using Photoshop, I adjusted the levels and saturation to bring out the colors. Three separate images were composited: old barn ruins, rainbow with tree and clouds. Clone stamped out a telephone wire as well. Trying something new, experimenting with my images in the Orton Style. Shot this with my Kodak Easy Share point & shoot camera. Brought it into Photoshop and added layers and different blending options as well as blur and sharpen. Some rust detail on panelling of a haybarn in Slovenia. I love the rich colours and detail in this – beauty can be found in the most humble places.

A 3 shot HDR Processed in Photomatix Pro This is a weird, slightly creepy and incredibly intriguing sculpture by a run down barn in the middle of a field somewhere between Henley and Reading. “The Nuba Embrace” Several people have asked about the sculpture that has appeared by Copyhold Barn; it is called “The Nuba Embrace” and is by John Buckley. John created the sculpture on his return from a visit to the Nuba Mountains in central Sudan in 2000- 2001 where he was a guest of the Nuba Rehabilitation, Relief and Development Organisation (N.R.R.D.O.) during the time of the genocide. He witnessed first hand a mass attempt to wipe out a cultural identity through ethnic cleansing, slavery and fierce attacks on the traditional homelands. More recently there has been a fragile cease fire in the Nuba Mountains (the same agreement that is currently barely holding in Darfur) and when John returned to the region in January this year he says that, despite the suffering, he experienced a sense of resistance living in everyone he met. John finds it difficult to talk about his work (like most artists) but hopes that the sculpture asks the question “What is the future for the Nuba people?” and reminds us that in this ever-shrinking world we are never far away from what is happening in places such as the Nuba Mountains. / Is This Love ?? / / Rustic Skelentons
