  • A nice Aussie outback scene. The location is about 45min drive north of Goondiwindi, on a back road through to Yelarbon. It’s all quite standard scrub the entire way, except for this one area of sand ridge with different vegetation. Quite nice to look at.

  • I’m by no means a “treehugger”, but strangely enough.. / I do feel pain when I see a cut tree. I know we need wood, / and even various tree barks are known to promote healing in / cancer, but still..this is how I feel when I see our trees / and forests dying.. / / / 1st place winner in the Challenge Cafe: “Naked” competition / /

  • I found this really great tree today. It looked as though it would fall over if it was leant on too hard, the branches were bare and the bark was peeling off everywhere. I thought this angle might do it justice. Camera: FujiFilm FinePix S7000 / Location: Valentine, Newcastle, Oz. / Date: 20-02-2008 @ 2:59PM ISO200 / f/8 / Focal Length: 7.8mm / Exposure: 2.5sec / Filter: R72 (infrared) / Tripod at a really strange angle. / / /

  • Nature really is full of surprises, rarely to you come across a tree with a bark that stops you in your tracks. Not because of it’s size or because of it’s twisted body or it’s uprooted roots. This bark stunned me with its colors, these whites, yellows and greens were not paint but a natural pigment of the tree. And it made a gorgeous abstract shot.

  • Early morning sunrays through the trees in our backyard (literally!). It reminded me of the arrival of some other life force.

  • While this is a macro of a tree trunk in all its armoured glory, I like to see it as an aerial view over the Land Of Tipi, as the sun sets and casts long shadows across the land! Taken at Brisbane’s Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens.

  • The mist around the trees was so beautiful yesterday morning, and everything felt so peaceful, I couldn’t resist a couple of textures and overlays to help create the feeling.
