I took this panorama just as the clouds covered the sun and a new storm front was about to pass over the canola field. Canon EOS 20D. Featured In: Landscape Photography, Panoramas.
Sunrise from Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills. This was the most amazing sunrise I have ever witnessed. The fog was incredibly thick and lasted for hours. It was Magic! More foggy images can be seen here: Foggy /
Mt Barker Summit, Adelaide Hills, South Australia
This is one of my favorite photographs from that amazing morning, because it has 3 of my favorite things in it – Mt Barker Summit & it’s shadow in the fog, Black Boys (Xanthorrhoea Quadrangulata) & of course that amazing blanket of fog : )
Taken at Nairne in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia with Mt Barker Summit in the Background. More foggy pics: Fog Blanket – Mount Barker Summit / Sky Above and Clouds Below / Framed Fog – Mount Barker Summit /
During a relatively peaceful 2002 protest against the World Bank in Washington, D.C., anti-war demonstrators began to change the situational climate of the march. Tensions between protesters and police, who were expecting a violent demonstration, began to rise. Police began to arrest everyone that they managed to surround inside Pershing Park, guilty, as well as innocent bystanders alike. In relative anticipation of the police’s reaction, this young man wrote the telephone numbers of civil defense lawyers on his arms before the demonstrations even began. Pershing Park, Washington D.C. September 2002 on Nikon N90s Here are the rest of the images from this series: /

An Iraqi Army soldier’s assault rifle hangs from one of the many concrete barriers used as barricades and blast walls. Arabic graffiti written in charcoal from a warming fire, warns approaching vehicles to stay back or they will be fired upon. Mosul, Iraq Circa 2006
A U.S. soldier shows off a scar from the surgery required to remove multiple pieces of ammunition shrapnel sustained when his squad came under direct enemy fire while on patrol in Mosul, Iraq. As of October 2007 over 27,000 U.S. military personnel have been wounded in Iraq since the beginning of the war in March of 2003. Mosul, Iraq Circa 2005
A little girl from Mt. Elgon, Uganda tells me with a smile in her native Lugandan language, not to take her picture. This village borders the initial hot zone, near Kitum Cave, where the Ebola virus broke out back in the late 60’s and continued to baffle scientists up until the last century. Uganda, East Africa July 1998
An old wooden fishing boat sits on the shore of Burwash lake in western Yukon Territory in complete dereliction. Years of use and the brutal weather has began to chip away at the many layers of paint. Burwash, YT, Canada October 2007
Vast rows of deciduous trees can be seen in perfect columns, displaying their autumn attire, at this tree farm in eastern Oregon. Tree farmers sow rows of trees in varying stages so they can be harvested at different times and therefore produce a constant yield to maintain a consistent gross. Eastern Oregon October 2007
An old road sign riddled with bullet holes, apparently used for target practice, leans slightly off the highway near Balancing Rock in southern Idaho. This tourist stop has been heavily vandalized because of its secluded location and lack of state funding. Southern Idaho October 2007

A native Australian Climbing Sundew (Drosera Macrantha), taken at Mount Barker Summit in the Adelaide Hills.
A silhouette of a native Australian ‘black boy’ (Xanthorrhoea Quadrangulata) at Mount Barker Summit. The Black Boy is for me quite an iconic Australian Native. I have used earthy tones in the background to compliment it, and as a representation of some of the wonderful vibrant earthy colours of OZ.

How does one communicate love from a distant land, not knowing for certain, whether they’ll return…? Found envelope, old anatomy chart, defibrillator pads, string and undisclosed form of communication inside envelope. Part of the mixed media collection. Circa 2006
“And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of our world – our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand. To those who would tear this world down – we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security – we support you. And to all those who have wondered if America’s beacon still burns as bright – tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope.” Photoshop combo of two images. Obama image used from www.politicogod.com/.../barack_obama_finger.jpg and personal image. Golden, Colorado. Circa 2008 /
On a day that’s hard to appreciate, or even swallow down, the definition of a Veteran seems unavoidably linked with an older generation. I don’t feel like a Vet. My grandfather is a Veteran, myself on the other hand, I feel as though I fall into an undefinable category. Generation X who has become “Generation Kill,” and subsequently slips right back into society, undetectable. The pain, fear and horror of what we’ve gone through is repressed, so that we can move fluidly back into this madness we call America, and continue our lives. The transition is impossible and just like generations before us, we will never fit it. Self portrait. 1/30 sec. @ f2.8 with Nikon N90s on self-timed. Mosul, Iraq Circa 2006
