The human effect on the natural world
Enjoy!
An interesting shape, this tree looks to have been strugling against the wind for most of it’s life. / . / / . / / . / / . /
A harsh environment to grow in, this tree has long ago given in to the hot and dry Australian outback.

I found this really great tree today. It looked as though it would fall over if it was leant on too hard, the branches were bare and the bark was peeling off everywhere. I thought this angle might do it justice. Early morning sunrays through the trees in our backyard (literally!). It reminded me of the arrival of some other life force.
Elephant humour Asian elephant (Baby) Amazingly, Asian elephants are more closely related to the extinct woolly mammoth than to the African elephant. The elephant’s tusks are elongated teeth (upper incisors) and tend to be smaller in Asian bull elephants than in the African. The four grinding teeth (molars) wear out and are replaced by new teeth from the back of the jaws; the elephant gets through six sets of teeth during its lifetime. Where they live India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia and Southern China / Habitat Mountains and forest What they eat Vegetation, fruit, twigs, small branches, bark and roots IUCN status Endangered ! The mist around the trees was so beautiful yesterday morning, and everything felt so peaceful, I couldn’t resist a couple of textures and overlays to help create the feeling. Original photograph with grunge texture overlay, colour and levels adjustments. Featured in Red Bubble Home Page, April 2009
Featured in: Your Magic Place – 26th April 2009. / A walk by The Seine at Rueil-Malmaison, France. (just outside Paris). There is beautiful light here always…it seems to dance on the trees and the river. This was a favourite area for the impressionist artists of the past and is still a very popular source of inspiration for many painters today. © Copyright 2009 Ivana Redwine, All Rights Reserved I started with a photo I took of a tree. When I took the photo, I wanted to capture the tree’s sculptural qualities. Later, I digitally manipulated the photo to create a more emotive, subjective work. I imagined what that particular tree might look like if it were depicted as an image that was halfway between a photograph and a painting. A hybrid of photography and art, this work blends what was captured in a photograph with digital artistic manipulation, creating a picture of what previously existed only in my imagination.

He was renovating one more, gorgeous house right here in Winnipeg, Canada. I was walking around admiring the grounds of this riverfront, park like property when I noticed 3 adorable baby squirrels playing on a tree. I went back to the car for my camera and started shooting. Got some pretty amazing shots out of it and this is one of them. The little one was trying to blend in hoping I wouldn’t see him. Very smart for his age, lol!!! Digital finger painting (with a mouse), completed through the wee small hours. I’m having trouble sleeping, too many images in my head. Even when I’m asleep, I’m drawing in my dreams. I’m having so much fun experimenting with digital, it’s a new medium for me and I just love it. FEATURED in ‘Creative Cards’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Lifeline’ August, 2009 /
